Anyone Else Wireless Charger Hot?

So I've noticed if I leave my phone on the wireless charger for a good amount of time it gets very hot. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I have an iPhone XS. When I say "amount of time" I'm guessing at least 30 minutes minimum before it gets warm. Anything over 30 minutes and it starts to get hotter. I'm thinking about plugging up my cigarette lighter phone charger and using that.

Pretty much any wireless charger does that to my iPhone. Including the one on my M2.

I use the Apple wireless charger at home and my phone never gets hot. However, when I use a different brand other than Apple my phone warms up and starts to get hot. Maybe its a compatibility issue? Who knows...

I haven't used the Mag safe charger or any other wireless Apple chargers. Might have to go out and buy one now.

Just know that my 11 Pro and my 12 Pro Max both get pretty hot on my NOMAD Base Station, a cheapy off of Amazon and my M2.

I used the wireless charger on my iphone 12 for over an hour and I got a warning from my iphone that it was too hot. My phone was actually very hot to the touch...

my samsung s9 does not get hot on base model. BTW, base and competition charging pads are different. There will be no way to track a pattern without separating out which charger you have.

Yes i have the same problem and i stopped using wireless charger. The phone gets very hot, especially with CarPlay. Wireless charger is very slow and probably can hurt battery with this temp.

There are a few threads about this. IMO and many others the wireless charger as they have it set up is a big fail. Many phones overheat and stop charging. I drove back from my PCD. Started the day at 92% and around around 6h with the phone in the charger most of the time. I didn't realize 1 day into ownership how it worked with the blue light/orange light. Ended the day at 62% because the phone would overheat and stop charging. I gave up on it long ago and store my work badge in there and have bought a wireless charger that fits in the cup holder which both gives me access to my phone, fast charges it and I point the passenger vent down at it with the AC on which keeps the phone from overheating. Unfortunately I lose access to one of the cup holders, but I guess it's the price to pay for BMW's poor design.

I don't have the Exec Pkg so don't have wireless charging. I ordered a wireless charging mat on e-bay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/224365889420) that should fit in either the cubby in front of the cupholders or in the center console (with a USB-C adapter). I'm going to try it in both and see how it works. Phone should slide around less in front of the cupholders, but the USC-C port in the center console puts out twice as much power as the USB-A port.

My iPhone 12 Pro also overheats and stops charging after a while.
