I don't agree. It's an attempt to fix an unfixable.

Thats what I am waiting for. Messing with the existing grill won't yield any significant improvements.

This or something close to this will be a huge hit as well as a great improvement. While you are at it, delete the side markers and we are set :-)

This is what we all expected from g80.

No offense to IND or Evolve but if this is the best there is to be had with months and months of research and development....I doubt anyone’s going to come up with a viable solution to this non existent problem. These two companies have their shit together. If not them then who?

Maybe someone will come up with something that makes everyone happy and doesn’t involve completely dismantling the front end.

When I don’t like the way a car looks I usually just vote with my wallet and buy another one. :confused
This was more of a fun project for us to simply paint the areas on the grille. Our car came in and we wanted to try something different.

We love all the feedback, good and bad. Its what we like best about our community here.

Are you guys doing a next phase for it? Personally, I was on the "good" feedback side and liked the development.

not me lol these bmw front ends were getting so crowded horizontally and the lower front fascia is usually just wasted space with not much interesting going on design wise. Makes a lot of sense to me why they did what they did. The M8 front end looks bad in my opinion.

The M8 is boring. Especially in its price range. I think if BMW had brought that look down range to their M4 they would have pleased enthusiast but would have not captured any new buyers.

Yes we plan to but it might take us some time as we are working on other G8X projects.

Agreed about the M8. It has the least interesting front end in my opinion and I've never cared for it. Had the new G8X come with the M8's front end, I surely would've passed. I would rather have just kept my F82 if that were the case.

I may be in my own camp on this... Buuuut, I love the OE front. I did hate it at first, but after a few months I really fell in love with it. So much that I bought a G80.

Honestly, I feel a year or more from now, people are going to love this front end. Probably sounds like insanity, but I can’t wait to see.....

I was and still am to some degree against it and wish it had been designed differently from the beginning. Although, I have also become used to it to the degree that seeing some version of a normal grille on the car at this point would look wrong.

I agree to an extent. I do think the M8 is a bit boring, but still attractive. I wouldn't buy one.

An implantation of the M8 style grille but a bumper design that was more aggressive and G8Xesque would have been perfect in my opinion. I'm not a grille hater, I just don't love them and wish they were different.

As with most of this stuff, pictures didn't do the M8 justice. Then I saw and drove it at M Track Days and fell in love with it. I went and looked at the 840 and 850's but they just looked kind of boring in comparison. Tried to find a lightly used M8 coupe, but no luck. My CA tells me I'm not old enough for one anyway. And I fell in love with LSB.

I personally think the M8 and M8GC are the best looking cars BMW make right now. 🤷🏻 Both are well out of my price range though.

M8GC is amazing in person. I get the M850 GCas a loaner from time to time and that car just looks so pretty, the M8GC just brings it up another notch. So torn if I should get one next.

If you can make it work financially, I'd say go for it! I know I definitely would if I could.

+1

I moved to the M3 wanting to add some practicality while keeping an exciting driving experience. Was *definitely* not sold on the new front end, but thought it was an acceptable compromise for the overall package.

Now as I walk back to my get in it, I find myself smiling and thinking "damn that is a nice looking vehicle"

They are the best looking BMWs because it evolves on the traditional design language. Executed almost perfectly. The car is so nice to look at it’s almost boring. But you can’t stop looking at it. The rear could use a little love though.

I think with the G8X the inverted kink says it all. Some people hate that it goes out of its way to break tradition (who wanted a mini m8) and others don’t. I’m in the latter group.

I wish I felt that way about the M8. It just does nothing for me. I would rather drive an M5 or M2C.

No change for me. I love the grill (more aggressive IMO), and appreciate the risk in making the change. (Have owned an e46 before as well).

Don't want my M3 to look like a baby M8.

Dropping in over from the e9x platform, how is everything holding up over here with the beaver teeth?

Does the e9x still feel as sluggish as it did 10 years ago? The disappointment of the e90/e92 is the reason I bought my first AMG. A W219 CLS63 that had nothing but problems.
