Now that many of us have the G80/82 which PPF are you going to get, and will you be ceramic coating it also?
An installer I have talked with also insisted that he needs to do "paint correction" prior to PPF, by I've detailed the car and the paint is surprisingly good compared to my past BMWs....

Of course the detailer will tell you they need to do paint correction before PPF. You want the paint perfect before you seal it in. But paint correction does little to correct rock chips, so it would be wise to go straight from dealer to detailer, otherwise those chips will only get magnified by the PPF. XPEL is common.

I went with XPEL self healing PPF. My installer did a paint correction to only the areas that he was applying XPEL to. I ended up doing the front half of the car to include the mirrors. Then I had the entire car ceramic coated with two coats to include all the wheels and brake calipers. I've posted some pics after all of the above was completed.
