I got a gift. Two stainless mugs, valve stem caps, and a BMW umbrella. I wasn't expecting anything and saw the bag in back seat and was like "ah cool, I got something" lol.

I’d be happy with some all weather mats and wheel locks, but trinkets are always fun.

BMW NA still gives the complementary 1 day performance school which can also be used as credit towards an M School class (~$900 value).

With my 2020 M340i, I got all-weather mats, umbrella, two mugs and a really nice portable BMW cooler. We've used the cooler so much, that it's starting to come apart. Hopefully, we can get another.

With my 2021 M340i, only got all-weather mats. Likely because I told them I want to take my old mats out of the 2020 to put in the 2021. I knew they'd throw in a new set, though

I called PC team a couple of times in the past and always told me that the complimentary one is just a 2 hour class.

That's too bad It sounds like you talked to someone that wasn't well informed. For the last 10 years it's always been an upgradeable full day course.

I called few minutes back to recheck and this person said the same thing as well. Not sure if they have updated their policy in the recent months.

There are two separate programs, so maybe you only qualified for the 'NEW OWNER’S TRACK DRIVE' mentioned at https://bmwperformancecenter.com/experiences/ which is available to anyone buying a car this year. That one is likely just a few hours based on the normal price and what you were being offered.

The other program is https://bmwperformancecenter.com/ultimatebenefits/ but not everyone qualifies. "Offer is available to current, original owners of a “New” BMW who previously have owned one or more “New” or “Certified Pre-Owned” BMWs."

So if it is someone's first new BMW, they won't get this offer.

I asked about this one specifically today and they mentioned that its currently not available even before getting my personal info or VIN. Not sure if its invite only.

It's invite only in that you need to have previously owned a New/CPO BMW. So I do normally I start my call with something like "I received an invite"

Then they take my VIN/info and say they will check if I qualify and reach out back to me. In my experience they didn't promptly respond back so I call back after ~3 business days and then they proceed with signing you up.

2012 - Invite came on a postcard
2016 - Invite came in email and a physical box with a USB in the shape of a key fob
2018 - Invite also came in email and a physical box with a USB in the shape of a key fob
2022 - Invite was email only this time.

The email is really easy to miss. Gmail puts it in the 'promotional' folder and at a quick glance it just looks like junk mail from BMW.

This is the 2022 version.

I've never gotten a "gift" but at the end of each purchase I always say "I wanted to ask if there's any merch I could get? I usually have gotten one with a purchase" I never got a gift on my first bmw but after I find out this little trick my last three the sales advisors has always given something small. Recently got a 50 year Jahre cap!

Do you by any chance recall how long after purchase you got this email?

Probably better than a tangible gift is being invited to track day every year. I did not get my G80 in time for this year's but took the X3 on the track and it was a blast. When I picked up the car they said they are working on trying to do it twice a year.

I received a tote bag with the following:
  • BMW Umbrella
  • BMW 12V Rechargeable Flash Light
  • BMW First Aid Kit
  • BMW Coffee Thermos
  • 2 Key Chains
  • BMW Hat

Asked them to swap the swag bag for all-weather mats (which they did for my X5 back in 2020), but they were not inclined to humor me. Basically, whatever extras they had lying around the BMW store.

I picked up my M8 10/31 and there were no longer gifts at delivery. I asked about it and he said they were having supplier issues due to covid.

My experience (a year ago) was unique: Take your pick of ANY item in the accessories area of the dealership and it's on the house! My wife was with me. I literally could not find a single thing that I wanted -- the clothing racks were rather bare. My wife chose an ///M suitcase. Forget the list price but it was expensive.

When I got my car in Würzburg Germany, I received a hat, the M performance key cover and a firm hand shake 😂

Don't schedule anything for at least a few months. They've been low on tires and don't let you push the cars. The new owners event is kind of lame and isn't worth it. The full day thing is where it's at.
