Here's a full session, only spicy bit is a late point by from a corvette into 1 that I happily took. Oh forgot to add I was in "track" setting and 4wd sport (DSC OFF) sport+ for engine and chassis, steering comfort and I think sport for brake Last edited by fhaze3; 04-03-2024 at 04:13 PM.. |

I would add a couple things though: After a few sessions the 2000s had a much harder time cold than earlier sessions (and still do now that I'm home - but it's getting better), which caught me off guard the first time I experienced it after a break. Once they warmed back up though, there were no issues with bite or fade. Secondly... the rear pads were at less than 20% after five sessions. I decided not to do the last three sessions because of it (I still had to drive home after all). Going into Chuckwalla they did have four sessions at Streets of Willow, but SoW is super easy on the brakes and I would say going into Chuckwalla I was well over 90% pad remaining. My recommendation: these pads are great for tracks that are easy on the brakes like Streets of Willow, but for tracks that have several threshold braking zones, I would say use a dedicated track pad. Tomorrow, before heading to Buttonwillow (which is very similar in many respects to Chuckwalla) I'll be switching out my 2000s for Pagid Racing RSL29 Yellows all the way around. Note: I was in 4WD Sport with DSC off and in M Mode Track while at the track

yes, I found the same cold braking behavior after they were hot. I was running the same setting as you. I'll inspect my rears for wear. |

For street pads, it's good to hear they can at least survive track work albeit not going to last long. Thank you both for sharing feedback.

With my car up on a lift at EAS I can now see how bad my pads really are, and it's not pretty. I was worried about my rear pads because of all of the stories of the rear pads going away. But in the end the fronts were completely gone. I didn't realize it because when inspected the rears, they were low enough that I decided not to continue. When i looked at my fronts, I don't know if it was an optical illusion, but I wasn't concerned. With the car on a lift the top of the pads have more rl remaining than the bottom pads in front. I could only see the top when i changed the wheels. I am SO glad that I didn't continue!
TL;DR DO NOT USE ISWEEP 2000s ON THE TRACK

So glad you did not continue. This is after one event? I used the RSL29 yellows, they are just fine, nothing to report. However, depending on how my second event goes, I might consider switching to the RST reds. I genuinely love the feel of the RSLs, particularly during brake release, and they are very resistant to transferring heat to the brake calipers and lines, so they work really well. However, this car is heavy, so the RST reds might be even a better option. We'll see.

Also note how much material is remaining on the other side of the pad. That's what I saw when I looked down, so I didn't think much of it.

Not sure why you guys are using IS2000 for track. I never promote it as track pads.
I do have IS3500 for intermediate track uses and “Endurance” for advance track usage.

It is a lesson learned. They're marketed as Street/Track. And now that I've learned that lesson, I'm trying to inform the rest of the community (something I didn't have).

I promote IS2000 as Street/Sports. Not Street/Track. I assume that you didn’t purchase from me directly? Because I would’ve told you if you asked me, since I am who imports and distributes them for BMW application. I have tested IS2000 on the track on my X3M years ago.

Yes, I had wear sensors. They did not "break the contact" for the wear sensor to go off. There was diagonal wear on the brake pads, with the leading edge of the pad taking the most wear and the trailing edge taking the least. If you look at the picture of the pad you'll see that there's plenty of pad where the sensor goes.

If you ordered from my website directly, it is listed as an additional option of break wear sensor. But, you are using the original BMW wear sensor, that's what I am selling too as additional option.

I just joined the iSweep cult. In all seriousness just had the 2000s installed on my G82 yesterday and early returns are excellent. Initial bite is acceptable and love the modulation of the new pads. Too early to tell on brake dust but my initial impressions are also positive after two spirited drives.

So, not to beat a dead horse here, but the 1500’s are more then acceptable for daily driving, ie highway, emergency stopping, etc. And the 2000 are a little bit more stopping power and better for track also, would this be correct? Also, is there a video on changing the rear pads? I really need to change these pads. The amount of dust from OEM is just bananas and it takes longer to clean the damn wheels then washing the whole car!
