Awesome. I'm going to try to set the tone by saying I am happy that BMW still offers a manual and gives people choices to pick what they like best. Enjoy before it's all gone.

Hope that the take rate is high enough to remind BMW the demand is there to keep developing/producing them, as cars become less and less engaging.

They’ve really ensured it won’t be by not offering it on the most popular configurations. A few months ago they put out a few slides showing they expected ~90% of sales to be Comps, and ~60% to be awd. I probably would’ve taken the 6MT with xDrive if I could’ve.

Please BMW UK , sell a few more i4s, so that some sort of limited edition manual G80 (or G81?!) can come to the UK.

Excellent video. I have one on order, but it is still stuck in the Order Bank for 4 months since I ordered it, just a bunch of 1's and 0's on a hard drive somewhere in the BMW system. When it does finally get built, it will be Isle of Man Green with the Tartufo brown full leather interior and the 825M bi-color wheels. The Frozen Black on this car makes it look like a rat rod. In general, I hate matte finishes on cars. Cars like the M4 should SHINE! I also hate all black wheels on a lot of cars these cays, including M cars.

Save the manuals!

Beautiful build. What did you decide on carbon buckets?

I have a manual oxide grey on tartufo (extended) on order. Same deal- stuck in order bank.

Would have been an easy choice for me also.

2022 BMW M3  [10.00]
Driving mine around since September, it's fine. It's a BMW manual, with everything that implies.

They won't make another, but they kind of mailed it in on this one anyway.

https://machineswithsouls.com/2021/0...eak-in-review/

I think the car works best as an auto. Still, I do enjoy driving it, and glad I got the stick one last time.

Couldn't disagree more with your comments regarding Frozen Paint on these new G models.
Normally I would just let it pass, but you seem determined to diss everything that's not for your taste. If I'd to adopt that attitude I'd write a war and peace sized reply regarding Green, brown with bi-colours. But no, I respect it's each to their own. Your comments will hopefully get lost in 1's and 0's as fast as they were spawned.
Don't even know what it's got to do with the OP.
Black on black on black. All in.

It's already set in stone.

ICE is out and so is the manual gearbox after this G8x-gen of cars.

I thought he was saying the auto AWD was the car he liked best? I think he's just positive about everything.

You can't buy a manual in the UK.

For drivers that don't mind muscle cramp inducing "1-2-3" shift sequence, M4 with a manual transmission has few equals. Get one while you can with a foot massager thrown in.

You German and American guys are lucky you got offered this 6MT machine!
I would've bought it if it was offered here, but it isn't.
I won't complain about my 8AT AWD though, 1st world problems.

Just asking this out of curiosity - we are entering a phase where electric will most likely be the future of all cars. If electric introduced a "gear shift" functionality that could mimic the feeling of actual shifting - and perhaps be programmed to feel like different cars - do you think you'd buy into it? Or too gimmicky?

I would have gotten a manual Comp XDrive if they made it. Alas, I'm settling for an Auto.

Why fix what isn’t broken
ICE cars with modern catalytic converters are doing less damage than your neighbors gas lawn mower.
It’s like tree huggers and vegans invented the problem that doesn’t exist.

To answer your question, no I don’t want a fake PlayStation car that pretends to be 6MT ICE

I've owned a FBO E85 tuned 135i & OG M2 (manual) and one DCT E90 M3.

For the V8 I would get a manual, no question. For these turbo charged cars I would go with the auto. Especially when you throw in xDrive into the mix.

I hope they never stop making manuals. It's a great option and the market should always be there. After driving over 90k miles in a manual I'm over it but I don't want them to stop making manuals. There is always room for 1-3 manual cars in my garage. Preferably my OG M2, a GT3 and a E93 M3.

The auto works better with the car and is more fun in my opinion. This doesn't take away from the enjoyment or brilliance of the manual.

You don't have to transport electricity. The savings in transporting billions of gallons of gas a year is considerable. It encourages more regions to convert to clean energy to maintain the grid as well.

No one is making anything up and they don't need to.

I would have loved to get the g80 in a manual but I have my e46 m3 for that. This car is my Swiss army knife car. Kids, work, sports, road trips, track, fun drives so it having this in Auto and Xdrive made so much sense and I think I'm not alone.
