Paperwork:
- My dealer completed paperwork 10 days before my PCD date.
- Once your date is confirmed, you have to complete and return your travel form no earlier than two-weeks prior to your delivery.
Congrats on the car! I'll be trying to do the PCD delivery if my car ever gets built.

How did it work with your license plate? Did the PCD have all of that setup or did you or your CA need to setup that up prior?

Thank you. My dealer is located in OH and they will be applying for my MI title & plate. They mailed me a temporary plate and its valid for 45 days. I took it along with me for my PCD.

Good luck with yours.

Hi VJ,

How much did ECAS charge you for the wrap & what was the discount for BMWCCA? (PM me if you rather).
My G83 is finally in QC, thinking about doing a PC delivery.
Now, another question…did anybody here had their cars sent via truck to your dealer for local pickup?
If anybody did, did you send out in open or covered truck?
BTW…Your G80 turned out beautiful! Enjoy it!!!

Good to know. I dropped my car off to them today. I will mention when I pick it up tomorrow I am a bmwcca member. I am also going to stop at the bmwcca ultimate driving museum tomorrow as well. They were closing when I showed up today. For the 50th anniversary that have some amazing cars on display apparently. I brought a GoPro and have a ton a video from the event. I will get it edited and post it up when I get it done. 😎

The event was awesome. Everyone was really great to work with. I can't echo again what everyone has said this is a must do experience. I can't wait till my son is older so he can do this with me. It does make you want to take your car to the track when you find out the capabilities of this car. I was pushing it pretty hard on the road course and again it was only a rwd car. I will get some more pics from the drive and after I pick it up today from extreme.

Congrats VJ! It's beautiful! Would you mind sending me the quote for PPF and ceramic? I want to do PCD but reluctant to drive home without PPF. Even thought about doing PCD and shipping to my detail guy here in Fort Worth.

Wow, thank you! I am planning to do Performance Center Delivery (I'm retired) and I don't see why anyone would not want to, even if I was still working at IBM full time (at times 80 hours/week) I would find a way! I can't wait until "Scarlett" is delivered!

My Toronto Red Metallic X4 M Competition has "finally" moved to "Scheduled for Production!"

I am planning to deliver my car to a detailer the day after I return to New York to have paint correction, partial protective film, and ceramic coating of the car, both sets of rims, and the Red Callipers.

Bumping the thread so that recent PCD customers can add their timeline and reports which might be helpful for everyone.

Hi Vj123,

This is helpful, can I ask you a few questions (I did post this in another thread):

- How does the paperwork work? For example, my dealership is in California (I'm in Washington) and performance center delivery is in South Carolina? Will the paperwork, car registration and taxes all be paid upfront before I take delivery in SC?

- Did you get PPF done in a place close to the delivery center and drove back?

- The shipping is a bit concerning. Having shipped one car recently from CA to WA, no driver is immediately available so does BMW expect one to sit tight in SC? Why would they not be willing to hand the keys over to the driver for shipping?

Thanks again for your help!

Glad to hear that this thread is helping everyone.

Paperwork: Your dealer will be completing the paperwork couple of weeks before your delivery and provide you all documents. You will be paying CA title and tax.

PPF: Yes. The place i have reported is 15 mns from PC.

Shipping: After your PCD, the car is yours and you have to coordinate everything. I believe they dont hand over the keys to a shipper due to liability issues.

If you are in CA, you can take delivery from your dealership and do a separate driving course in Thermal. This way you don't have to coordinate with the logistics and delivery of your vehicle.

So if there a cost for PCD? What are the additional charges we pay? For example, if I was to do a separate driving course in Thermal, I would be paying for that.

Nope, 100% free. They even include the hotel the night before and meals. You just have to get yourself down there (and then back home).

Just today I decided to have my car delivered to the dealer, BMW of Ridgefield in Connecticut and have it transported to Detailer's Domain in New Jersey in an enclosed carrier for color correction, partial protective film (a track package plus some more), and ceramic coating of the car, glass, rims (including two additional sets of rims), and the Red brake callipers. I will go to Spartanburg, South Carolina with my son-in-law after this to do the same things except of course not picking up my car 👍✅🚘😎

Owning a BMW is NOT for the budget conscious....

PCD is zero cost with free accomodation and dining.

You have to pay extra for any driving courses in SC or CA.

Question for activities on the day of delivery. Is the Zentrum tour included as part of the day's activities or is that something that you book separately?

Yep, it's included, although I think the Zentrum is open to the public anyway without cost. However, unlike the plant tour, which is organized and led by a staffer, the Zentrum is on your own time and pace after the day's planned events. It's a great tribute with some classic cars, but probably 30-60 minutes is sufficient there.
