G8x M3 and M4 now showing in BMW stock locator
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Using this you can see exactly what specs each dealer is getting and the lease/PCP costs. Interestingly within a 500 mile radius there was only one M3, but multiple M4s G80 M3: https://stock.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/IcQH...=016212&f=true G82 M4: https://stock.bmw.co.uk/results?f=dH...y_max=MTAwMA== Just to note for non-UK viewers, as already well established elsewhere in this forum the UK only gets the Comp models. |

Cars are starting to appear in the US, as well. Example:

One could find this in the States for about 10 days now. My dealer states that their first allocation is sitting at port for about 10 now waiting for BMW corp. to release the cars for distribution to the dealers....sigh...

Bearing in mind how slow BMW UK seem to be in releasing new model info etc compared to all the stuff you seem to get in the US, I thought this was a minor miracle it was showing up at all

Seems like they really don't care, but I suppose the "Internet Sales Manager" role is basically an entry point to a CA that knows how to click some buttons at many dealerships, similar to the "Genius" role. Sort of sad for the brand really.

In my view, at least a potential customer can contact the dealership and inquire about an incoming car and show interest for contact when a car arrives. The worst scenario I have seen at Cars.com was I was searching for a new Corvette, at least order one to have delivery by Summer 2021 (wishful thinking). Some dealers were listing a sold vehicle as being available with a 8% discount....You call, and they give the excuse they have just sold the car, but can get another with a 5K minimum deposit.....and delivery in a few months....yea right!! At least I have not seen this recently on the web site, but very sad. For anyone considering the new Corvette, expect a true delivery in a year (minimum) or if want one within a couple of months, expect to pay 25-30K above sticker, more for highly desired options. Small dealers are selling their allocation to the big dealers for 15-20K....easy money for them. This is why I moved on to looking at a 3/4 M competition.

The listing (Seattle) I saw at U.S. link may be crap. It says Carbon Fiber Seats. Anything they would have would be an HEA model and that option wasn't available.
When I check my zip code, they show an M3 and M4 at BMW San Francisco. They say no cars have arrived. Last edited by rak299; 02-19-2021 at 10:54 AM.. |

It is possible non-HEA cars are right behind/on the same vessels as HEA cars. Obviously if it has CF Buckets, us forum members (knowing infinitely more than any Client Advisers) know it cannot be an HEA car. Unlikely they would list it with CF Buckets if it didn't have them?

Just ordered an M3 today. Dealer told me 8 weeks. Quite a bit different from the C8 Corvette!

I'm not sure if any cars arrived at local dealers but I'm expecting a call from a couple of dealers when they get them. I'm on the list for AWD so I'm mostly interested in seeing exterior & interior colors to finalize my decision. No real rush for me.

A black MT G80 arrived at my local dealership (Buffalo) today and they let me sit in it and do a cold start. They said I was the first person to sit in it. It wasn't even coded yet, so none of the screens worked, which was interesting. They said they'd let me test drive it as soon as the weather is nice enough, so I'm hoping for Wednesday - doesn't look like they're waiting for the embargo to lift.
Fun fact - apparently they've taken 3 orders so far. All M3 and all manual. I think the manual take rate is going to be really high. Maybe even >50% Didn't spend much time with it so the only pieces of feedback I have are that it really does look better in person (although I personally find the black really boring) and the interior felt cheaper than I expected, as someone who never owned a BMW. I'd say it's mostly on par with my Stinger GT2, except for some puzzling stuff like REALLY cheap feeling sun visors and a very scratchy headliner. Clutch felt much lighter than the one on my Focus RS, so I'm sure it would be fine in traffic, but I'll wait until I drive it to give a verdict. |
