Good question, I really don’t know how it started, it’s not only me doing it. P-Car instead of Porsche, F-car instead of Ferrari. Maybe it’s a mix of of respect to being on BMW forum and not filling it with other brands search tags or coming across pretentious by name dropping these higher end brands. Now it’s just a reflex that I use it sometimes.

Can't believe heated wheel isn't standard or a separate option. I don't need any of the other items. Bum deal. Although I would go for it if the remote start worked w/ the manual trans.

Agreed! It’s a stand alone option on regular models (as long as you get heated front seats) but I’m baffled as to why it’s not available as a stand alone on the M3/4.

I have ordered mine without the exec pack, and had accepted that I am not getting the lights. This is also my first new BMW that I placed an order for, so I may be confused but I didn't understand one thing about the lights. In the configurator, on clicking on exec pack, it names them as "Icon Adaptive LED Headlights with Laserlight" which I did not check when ordering.
When I track my car on my BMW page, under the *standard features* menu I see
"Icon Adaptive LED w/Laserlight"
Even on the summary page options show up like this:

Options
Parking Assistance Package - $800
M Compound Brake with Black Calipers —
Icon Adaptive LED Headlights with Laserlight —


Interestingly, if I choose the exec pack, the options show up like this on the summary pagee:

Options
Executive Package - $3,000
Parking Assistance Package - $800
M Compound Brake with Black Calipers —

What does this mean?

Heads up display is one of the most overrated features idk why everyone on here loves it so much. The laser lights are a must or the car just won't look as menacing.

I have laser on my i8. The difference with the way they photograph and look was night and day from my M6.

It's useful for manuals. I turned mine off in the first week on my F80 since it was a DCT and made it feel cluttery. It's also not really new for me since I've had it before on corvettes and such.

Is there any meaningful difference in the headlight brightness at night out of curiosity. I think the US is all over regulating headlights. They def look cooler though no argument there haha

I got mine without the Exec Package as well, and found out that the Laset Light is actually standard.

I really like the HUD and the wireless charging. I think the headlight difference is "adaptive", not the type of light. Living in California, I don't care about heated seats or steering wheel. Gesture control seems stupid to me.

Go to the configurator, all the way to the end. In the last summary stage it will show up. They are apparently standard on the competition model. Not standard on the manual. They are also listed in the build doc CA gave me.

Just don't expect the 3/4 wraparound running light, you'll get the lower eyelash running light only without the exec package. Unless the BMW NA configurator is wrong.

Yeah, easier to look there than glance down at the tach if you're trying to shift near redline if you aren't so familiar with the car you just know it through muscle memory. I turn mine off cause it's annoying to me. Rather have a nice clean field of view.

I was just playing on the configurator with a manual build an indeed they are there (laser lights) without ticking the executive package box. Even the summary states "Icon Adaptive LED Headlights with Laserlight". I looked at the 360 view of the car and I can't see any difference with the way they look.

Seems odd to me? If you can get them for free without ticking the box then it really makes the executive package expensive for what it is unless I'm missing something here, but it seams were all on to something with this?

Can someone share their build, in which they did get the exec pack. Super curious if the description code beside the lights is the same.

I just checked my build sheet and I have executive package. It is indeed the same code. 5AZ.

I may have to think on this again now lol.
