RK Autowerks Secondary Cat Delete Only?

I’m struggling with what exhaust setup I want and have been debating between the AA equal length Mid-Pipe and the Remus Race exhaust. With the Remus I will need to delete the secondary cats separately so I am thinking of getting the RK Autowerks Secondary Cat Delete first before the Remus. Has anyone gone with this setup and have any feedback?

That’s a better value for a cat delete but either way. How’s it sound alone as an exhaust mod

I recommend you get the single midpipe Instead, it pairs well with the REMUS.

If you want a louder sound, the secondary cat delete achieves that, but if you keep the dual midpipe design, the sound is not necessarily an upgrade over stock, just louder.

You'd be surprised how many vendors sell identical stuff from alibaba/express. Since the car is sold there too they make their own parts due to cheaper material/labor, a lot of vendors simply import stuff from there rather than making it in house.

I don't recommend those. We tried installing a set of the exact same ones and the flanges are pretty bad which caused an exhaust leak.

I did wonder why they had gaskets on the flanges, maybe that's why

I came across these from Remus for significantly less but they don’t appear to utilize the clamps like the RK ones do.

Interesting. I thought the equal length was supposed to be the better sounding overall. Are there any videos of the combined setup?

Better is subjective.

The single midpipe offers the cleanest, rasp-free sound.

The equal length takes the benefit of the single and adds a deeper midrange tone and a more aggressive RPM sound. When doing so, the sound is not as clean as the single; it also has a slight rasp (it's still a million times cleaner than the X-pipe sound).

Some people want the cleanest sound, while others like the "best of both worlds" approach that the equal length offers.

Makes sense. I think the problem I have is my target setup is the GESI downpipes and mid pipe. I’ve heard plenty videos with that setup with EL mid pipes but significantly fewer with the single. It’s too hard to decide what the single sounds like from available clips I’ve found.

I always tell my customers that if you are unsure which midpipe to get, choose the single, its the safest choice. i would go with the resonated version to pair with the GESI downpipes.

I live in an area where removing the secondary cats would cause too many problems so am looking to remove just the resonators.

There seem to be limited options for mid pipes that primarily do this. Are there any single mid pipes that only remove the resonators?

I haven’t seen any - I’m guessing when you leave the secondary cats in it’s such a short section that having just a short single pipe doesn’t produce as deep sound.

any other thoughts on options to consider leaving in secondary cats?

the AWE midpipe removes one of the resonators and keeps the cats intact. you can find it by going on our website and searching for 3820-11489

The only thing to note is that the AWE midpipe is not full.
it does not replace the secondary cats, so the sound increase is less than the other options, and you still need to cut your exhaust to install it.
