Trunk cover, no handle

To access the batter, you really have to fiddle with the lining at the bottom to lift it, as there are not pulls or handles of any kind! Is this normal? Is there a retrofit to add some sort of a pull? (The E46 had a good one to access the spare tire)

Normal. There's no spare tire to access so not really necessary to have a pull handle IMO.

Use a small pry tool on the back left corner nearest to the trunk opening), easiest location I've found to pull it up.
