I resemble that remark too.
TY all for the web cam pics. I am too much of a fossil to have thought of that.

Thanks to everyone for posting the pics. Glad it’s progressing. I’m guessing another month before I see mine. In port by 30 June. 2 days (hopefully) for Carbon Fiber install, 8 more days until in gets to Colorado. Hopefully sooner but I’d rather be pleasantly surprised than upset.

Better Late Than Never
After months and months of scrolling through the posts on here I have finally decided to join and post as my G80 is on the ORION LEADER and I figured it was only right that my first post on here (and first BMW vehicle) be on this thread. I am in the Bay Area and it has been a painful 5 months thus far, but what's another few weeks waiting for this thing to hit Oxnard. Anyone else get any webcam pics of it going through the Canal?

After reaching Port Hueneme, does anyone know how long it'll take to get to the dealer in the Bay Area? |

I’m going to Sac, and from different threads, I’d say we should budget 10-14 days once at Port Hueneme.

I would figure 1-2 days additional for the bay area. A few years back I lived in San Jose and bought a car on August 1st that was in Long Beach but on hold until the manufacture released the model year on Aug. 15th. My car was trucked from Long Beach to Jan Jose overnight and I was handed the keys at 11 am on Aug. 16th.

So, the date to look for is the departure date from Iquique, Chili. It is then 4300 nautical miles to Port Hueneme and with a speed of 17 knots (which is an estimate) it will take here 10.5 days. This ship is making several unsequenced port stops, including Port Hueneme. Already 4 days behind eta of a few weeks back, causing further delays as in Callao that she had to go at anchor there. This ship normally doesn't make port stops in North America, so eta's are fluid.
I hope I do not bore you guys with all this maritime stuff, but if she leaves Iquique then we have for the first time a better idea when she arrives in Port Hueneme. Last edited by ArnoPCB; 07-14-2022 at 03:18 AM.. |

My car is going to the dealership Bay Area as well, then will be transported down to Los Angeles so then with 1 week of processing at dealership, I should budget 3-4 weeks?

Also, I honestly love that you're breaking it down from a mariner standpoint. Please keep your write ups coming. |

Only bad thing about some of these delays is my CA had me apply for the financing through BMW financial on 4/15/2022 and with their current 120-day approvals I'm running against the clock here as to not have to apply all over again. Basically had to apply at the time to secure the vehicle given the demand being out of control.

Somewhat in the same boat (in multiple ways -- pun). I applied on Jan. 27th and the rate I ultimately get will likely be 2.5% higher than in January. I originally offered to pay cash but the dealer did not want that so to get MSRP the "deal" I made was to finance through BMW financial. I plan to pay 1/3 down and pay off across three months, so the dealer gets full credit for the loan and stays happy.
