No carbon bucket seats

Trying to lock a build now and told they aren’t able to add the carbon fiber bucket seats. It’s for 2025 M4 with a week 17 build. Anyone else heard there aren’t carbon seats?

If your status is 150 (scheduled for production), you can't change your order.

It’s not surprising, unfortunately. Carbon buckets go in and out of stock, all of the time.

If you can’t add it to the build, then you’ll either 1.) accept the build without buckets or 2.) pass on the allocation and see if the dealer will keep you at the top of the list for the next round of allocations.

I had a similar issue with buckets on my G80. Someone can correct me, but I don’t believe there’s an option to “hold” the build until it the item comes back in stock.

If you’re able to order the buckets on the build sheet, and it goes on back order once it hits 150/112 status, that’s a different story.

I was told it was in 112 status. So not sure if that makes a difference. But then I got different news that they can’t do the build in 112 status when I’m spec-ing frozen brilliant white metallic since it’s still somewhat an individual color. They told me it would have to be 111 status to spec that color. I guess I need to wait for next allocation to get my colors.

if you have individual options I believe it locks in at status 111

It’s 112 status for individual builds and 150 status for standard colors.

I can’t comment on Frozen White though given the pseudo-individual nature. Not in my wheelhouse of knowledge.

calbears or a few others can answer this definitively though.

for a true individual color (paint code 490), the order locks at 112.

For a color like frozen brilliant right, I can't recall if there is an individual block date. If there is, then you can't change anything on (and past) that date.

My ‘24 X5 M60 was locked at status 112 due to the individual piano black trim. I would expect the frozen exterior paint colors to also lock at 112, but a color such as Tanazinte Blue doesn’t lock at 112. I have a feeling that in OP’s case the frozen brillant white triggered a lock. OP should skip the allocation, spec a standard exterior color (white) with carbon buckets, once the seats are secured at status 111, then flip the color to frozen brillent white.

Could also be that BMW is holding back carbon bucket allocation for the upcoming M4CS, similar to what occurred with the M3 when the M3CS was in production.

So I did end up finding an allocation at another dealer that was further out. Seems like there was no errors or kick backs for the FBW and CB seats. Maybe I’m good to go now. Probably was too close to production to got that combo.
