IOMG G80 M3 - Overcast Photoshoot (iPhone 14 vs. Nikon DSLR)

Freshly washed car, overcast day, why not break out the DSLR?

To be completely honestly, my DSRL-shooting skills are a bit rusty, so I tried playing a bit with the ISO and F-stop settings, but mainly relied on post-editing (just with iPhoto).

While the DSLR photos are much crisper (and have much greater detail when zooming in), surprisingly, shooting with the iPhone 14 Pro in "RAW" saw a bit more "pop" and color.

As you can see below, DSLR much more "emerald" green, while the iPhone makes IOMG look more teal green.

Great pictures man I love your car, I have the same exact spec except red calipers. My car left the factory yesterday and is currently on the way to the port. So hopefully not to much longer!

Excellent shots & it's ironic that I like the color hues & overall tone a touch better with the iPhone.

I think the iPhone actually captures the true color better, but the DSLR is much crisper.

To be honest, the car does have that emerald shine under certain light. So it’s hard to pinpoint. A very complex color!

Interesting. A lot of variables at play. The DSLR shots look underexposed. What DSLR exactly, and what lens? You'd need to use a fast lens and edit the photos to see a difference, which will be even more apparent when pixel peeping. In today's world phone cameras are good enough, and for what it is the iPhone pics are really good.

Beautiful car though regardless

DSLR is a Nikon D7500, with a Tamron lens. I think it's more about shooting in "auto" when I should be shooting in manual. I just didn't have the time to play around as much as I wanted to.

Weather didn't help, either.

That looks great. Which trunk wing is that? My wife's IOMG on Fiona Red is currently crossing the Panama canal.

Regardless of the photo equipment used, M3 in IOMG color makes it fairly easy for the camera to do its job. Beautiful car!
