For most hardware BMW mods Im using Ben aka r33_RGSport in the stone street riddled world of Irwindale. Its a little bit of a drive from the OC but:

Might have to use them myself. I need someone to install my spacers springs and lip all in one shot.

I got the Amazon m performance carbon one(China). Should be here in 2 weeks. Also ordered the mad downpipes but there seems to be a shipping issue. Now I'm torn between if I should cough up 1500+ for a mid pipe or just modify the stock one. I saw someone post on the mid pipe mods thread a shop that custom built his in Anaheim and it looks pretty nice for 5-$700

your call but this is my 200 dollar hack job on the existing exhaust. I sold this blue one but did the same thing to my AR car.

I don't think it's just a visual annoyance (which is very annoying indeed), but I believe the car also goes into limp mode (mine does at least, without the tune), which sucks even more (and is overall dangerous for the engine as well, I believe it goes rich).

I think it's important to not have a CEL at all.

I have not heard it yet but have been told that with modified center sections and catless down pipes--- >>>> Honda Civic.

Now James, the OP, (sorry for the OT shit) has kept his center section OEM so its sounds pretty damn good. I just am wary of the CEL coming back.

If you are in the Anaheim area today, we have a G80 M3 here now with the PSI midpipe just fitted to hear in person.

Midpipe only. Not a lot of people swapping downpipes until a flash tune is made available.

I wont disagree in general but are you familiar with this S58 engine and the issues it has exhaust wise?

We start with down pipes, then secondary cats, then a first resonator, then a second, then a huge ass fat can. So many things that can make it worse or better with change.

The full systems Ive heard (not sure what you have heard) are rather tingy and raspy. So the members here are trying in piecemeal to make shit .... less shit.

And thankfully no one can see what is done underneath since under carriages are not part of the beauty contest.

I ran a full exhaust on my Huracan and with my R8 now and its fabulous but then again its a fucking V10!!!

Ive never heard of this--- any of these mods COULD hurt your warranty if a failure of a process involved with these mods occurs.

To me personally, its all a risk one takes albeit minimal with exhausts as failures rarely occur. But exhausts at all levels, dps or whatever, are part of the engine process and if someone blows up an engine the BMW inspectors could easily use a modded exhaust as a factor and void something.

All this is supposition of course.

I also got some 02 mini cat spacers to deal with the CEL and so far so good. I did have my shop, EuroMpire weld some 02 bungs on the end of the spacer so the 02 sensor would not hit the mini cat.
