List of G8X M3/M4 Exhausts - Compilation List

Let’s start a thread listing out the current available exhausts, the costs of installation and parts as well as any videos we have of them. Then let’s have a discussion on what sounds the best and is also reasonable in pricing. I realize there are other threads but they are all over the place. I hope this is helpful because I really need lots more information.

Great idea. I was also thinking of starting a similar thread but with tuning chips in mind.

A few questions:
- Are we allowed to mention retailer's names?
- Are you going to tally all the info in the original post?

So here's my contribution:
==============================
PSI mid-pipe
MRSP: $1699.00
Current sale: $1599.00
Black Friday/Thankgiving special w/ emailed coupons: $1520.00 (free s/h)
Retailer: X-PH.com

Comments:
As reported by some users, the pipe opens up the sound in Sport/Sport+, but keeps it civilized in Comfort (best bang for the buck)

Issues:
Initially, it was mentioned that some pipes had clearances issues with the cross-bracing, but apparently, those have been corrected by the maker.

Sound samples:

(thanks to PLife)

The question, is, when is the M Performance Exhaust going to be readily available? Im seeing people ordering them in Europe. Originally, I was only seeing shops with them installed. Now, Ive seen some customers with it. Are you planning on carrying it, or selling it?

Personally, I feel like with the M performance exhaust you get less bang for your buck. It's an axle back exhaust so you're only replacing the mufflers in the back, due to this it doesn't sound much different than stock. It might be more prominent in person but from the videos I have watched it sound very close to stock. Then comes the installation, you need a new diffuser AND you have to cut part of the rear bumper out to install. I believe you'll have to buy a new bumper if you want to go back to stock or possibly switch out to another exhaust. Then there is the look, this is subjective, but I prefer the traditional M style exhaust look compared to it being staggered.

All I’ve heard from shops about the M performance exhaust is it’s a bitch to install.

Looks like the $7k M Performance exhaust already comes with the new special carbon diffuser so the cost is not too bad. With the installation yes you have to cut out a center piece of the bumper with 4 slots that the regular diffuser clips onto. Nothing where people can see will be cut but yea if you want to revert back to stock or the traditional quad setup, you would have to get a new bumper for a 100% fit or you would have to hack it.

Aesthetically I think the traditional quad looks better, but I am tempting to get the M Performance stacked exhaust to match the atrocious front nostrils.

raywai eluded to it. The places Ive seen it for pre-order, the part number includes the diffuser, and the tip kit, or you can order it separately. Although, I dont know why you'd want to?

It looks crazy, and if you measure wrong, I would think the tips would either stick out too much, or not enough.

This.
Do you have a link to the official M performance exhaust for the G80? Any videos of the tone? I heard, although I don’t remember where, that it doesn’t sound any different than the stock exhaust. I would gladly spend 7K if it sounded really awesome.

Not a fan of the Mperformance exhaust. I don't think its the best sounding available and it looks hideous. For me I will be going with the Active single mid pipe and pairing that up with the Remus Sport rear section. Im going for sound as I don't race or track the car so the performance gains are not my main concern.

Aren’t you a little concerned that the Remus is going to be way too loud? I mean I watch the Smhee video and these guys are total car enthusiast and they look taken aback by it.

Thanks brother. That was awesome. The background music sucked big-time but hey you get what you get. I think it sounded pretty good and that was without mid pipes. I’d love to hear it with the resonators removed.

We do not offer M performance products, im not a fan of BMW performance products.

It's overrated and overpriced in my opinion, if their products did not have the BMW brand, they would not sell well compared to aftermarket brands

plus the single mid pipe should deepen the tone on it. Im not to sure on availability on the remus rear section. I know the Active single mid pipe wont be available til Feb. I live in NJ so the car is pretty much away for the winter anyway.
