Having trouble visualizing that lip without the gray stripe above it. It is definitely aggressive but it's tough to tell how it works with the lines of the car.

Why has my original comment been removed?

If you don't want a range of comments and opinions on these designs then don't post them in the first place.

I know, there is the 996 C4S with a tent on the roof that is legendary now and I always think that no matter how cool it might be, the guy in the Cayenne with a roof tent is doing it better somehow. But thing is, some were first at it, and actually go out and use their cars in that environment (said 996, Cayenne) but most are posing. Fake lifestyle stuff.

Not a fan also, but this is like that phase where they tried to stack up a couple of surfboards into a pickup and sell that as a lifestyle look. This will pass. Especially as we go EV route and having anything anti aero will be an issue.

Not just sports cars. Seen an "over landing" rig rolling around town? These guys have high lift jacks, spare fuel cans, tents, rescue boards, and whole lot of other crap bolted to the side or roof of an suv. You know for those crazy times on the way to soccer practice or Costco.

I am ok with the roof box on this m3 cause it is a SEMA build. It's meant to be unconventional and eye catching. (Like the silver band along the bottom.)The plus is that it shows that even with a hardcore version of an m3 you can still use it for pedestrian things like a family road trip if need be. Now, if this box was on an m3 all the time like the aforementioned over land gear, I would take issue with it and that person probably bought the wrong type of car.

Thule also only rates them up to 80 mph, so you wouldn't want to keep it on all of the time any way.

What constitutes a "build"? I see wheels, an exhaust…things you can add. But this isn't "built". I digress.

The roof box is awesome, but to me it needs the wagon to hold it together. I kind of feel like, with the way BMW designed the G80, you can make it different but maybe not better.

Didn't we all add the colored IND start button on the F cars? Looked great. Now BMW gives it to you. The black BMW badge is great though, that might be something I want.

We chose these mods to show the scope and versatility of the G8x as to what's out there.

I didn't want to be "safe" with the choices or styling especially for SEMA.
