Here is where my mind is currently at with BMS Elite . . .

Product really intrigues me

Really like the acoustic notes currently emanating from under the hood of my stock G80C

Would welcome ramping that sound up a few decibels

Did I miss the product cost in one of the thread posts ???

Looks like an easy DIY install

Not concerned about rain or air circulation . . . I am confident neither pose threat

Aesthetics look cool, but play ZERO role in my consideration

Do not care about power boost claims . . . stock power is already more than enough

It is ALL about ACOUSTICS

Not willing to compromise function at all

Primary concern pertains to prior difficulties reported with F80/82 at start-up

So, looking forward to forum feedback after some seat time with product

I tried to briefly edify myself on the topic and came across a nice little overview on the topic.

Obviously, this does not tell us if the cones improve or worsen performance with the G80/82, but it does provide some background into how they work and what factors need to be considered.

I ran home made bmc cone intakes and the power was not noticeable. However, the sound was absolutely spectacular. And im anal as fuck about exhaust sound. Super deep bad assy exhaust note, intake hiss, blowoff sounds… and Its worth the price of admission. The only issue ive had was with the jb4 i had some soft codes while running e30 on aggressive maps related to manifold pressures. No cel. According to Terry they will fix it, its on their end on the jb4 programming. For now running bmc filters and stock airboxes but the intakes completely ruined me. I cant fucking wait to run them again. These transform the car IMO

PS the car’s performance is dramatically affected by DA and atmospheric conditions. Much more than intakes imo. Also i noticed that the intakes are slightly easier to cool off and heat soak less easily than the stock aiboxes due to less thermal mass probably. So if youre looking at the power, forget it. If u want sound and possibly slightly more consistent iat, this is the golden goose egg

I just installed bmc cone filters onto the stock intake pipes like the top mounted ones but had to rig my own design. There werent any available last month for purchase. Just commenting on my general experiences with intakes which are very positive from a sound perspective. If these pipes had a 4” opening i would still buy them but i dont think they are compatible with my filter openings or length.
