Did they provide any data with these? I had BMS intakes on my f80 and the car actually lost 3 hp, and the cold start was rough after install. I took them off and cold start went back to normal. A lot of F80 guys had similar feedback.

If they dont have any negative effects, I'd probably buy them for the sound alone.

Honestly, these (and exhausts) are all about the sound. These cars have more than enough power, and I'm pretty sure no one could tell +/- 10hp from car to car if they were to be tested.

I have their intake on my G20, and could care less if I gained or lost 5HP. The sound of the turbos is worth every penny! Plus, they are made and designed great.

17HP from some filters? Is there supposed to be a decimal place in there, somewhere? Like 1.7? Id be worried about them getting wet, in that location.

Gotta love the +17 horsepower….

Better throttle response? Come on… you're telling me when you're in sport+, that you can tell the difference between a stock Airbox and these silicone tubes?

You're telling me you're going to spend 900 dollars on silicone tube and pod filters for some spool noises? Let me know how those noises sound when a car in front of you splash a puddle right into your filters…

Since I live in Oregon and have lots of water exposure, I just purchased the regular mounted intakes. Excited to have them installed next week 😀

Looks great. Have used bms in past. Always a great product. The typical hate will be said and talk about heat soak. Let's be real when we are flying down the highway IATs are going to be lower other than at a dead stop but will probably just be even. Are these in stock !?

I'm very interested… do you sell any filter socks? Not that I drive my car in the rain on purpose, but it happens.

I'm sure the sound is amazing, but I'm not sure about the potential water hazard…

My point was simply that anyone worried about whether an intake will truly boost their HP needs to be realistic-even if it did give 5hp they will never actually be able to tell. The greatest, and most noticeable benefit, is the intake and turbo sound.

That said, yes, that is expensive. But I would buy the “short-ram” version (essentially two of what I have in the g20), because every single time I hit the gas I smile from the turbo spool sound. It is worth every penny to me. If you don’t think it’s worth it, don’t buy it.

And by the way, they are not silicone…they are very well made sturdy aluminum parts that use stock connection and installation place, ents. No need to bash a well made product.

As to the fear of the CAI style, I don’t have any data on the true risk, but doubt it is anywhere close to as risky as you seem to think.

Ah okay ty Mike. I wonder if I can get a unicameral dry filter from AFE. I liked their dry filters.

Any further input on the topic of water breach on the CAI vs. Ram?
Heading into fall I'd much prefer CAI vs Ram approach, but I do daily my car - it sees rain. Mike, do you have any thoughts on potential hazard, or any ways to go about safely? What about something like seen attached?

That's what I was referencing on my post about my "sock". I ran one for years on my no limit 5" intake for 6.7 power stroke. No problems.

Would be interesting to see them run the dyno again with this sock on. Does it muffle the sound any?

I must admit my mind was on if a audible decrease would be apparent as well with the sock.
I, like our guy above, am chasing this 90% for audible, and 10% for aesthetics as I think the piping and cones looks cool as well. That shot with the blue cones I think will look sinister paired with the blue of the laser lights.
