Anyone else waiting on the KW Plug & Play DDCs?

Just like the title says, is anyone else waiting for KW or BMW to drop the plug and play full coilovers? or for BMW to drop their BMW KW plug and play M Performance full dampers?

Does anyone have experience with them on other chassis codes?

I've had the M Performance Coilovers on the M2C which were based on the KW V3. They were pretty affordable at $2400 and definitely improved the ride quality and handling on the M2C. I tracked with them and made a nice difference.

I'm curious how they're going to be for the G8x because the stock suspension is already very good and much better than the stock F8x platform was. I also think they're probably going to be double the cost of what they were for the F8x.

I personally don't think they're going to be worth it, over HAS for the G8x, unless someone is a very advanced track driver and they need to finely tune compression and rebound, but to each their own.

The pricing for the MP HAS in Switzerland is already out and it costs around 2200.-. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me, since its only a spring kit and does only a 15-20mm drop at best.

I am indeed waiting for the KW DDC p&p and hope it wont be as expensive as the V4.

Im hoping they release it soon and they have enough in stock. Don't want customers to have to wait months for their kits

Yes, they are called DDC, but no ETA from what I can see.

We have installed them before on the F80 and they are a nice setup. They are more set setup for the street but a great option for those looking to retain EDC. The KW DDC kit comes with new connectors to adapt to the factory plugs.

This is F82 but should be pretty similar to the G80 setup when it becomes available

Thank you for the replies, guys. I just think the EDC is pretty good, already. Just looking for some height adjustment. If the DDC offers even better ride quality, while maintaining the ability to adjust to sport sport+ with height adjustability, I think that's what I'm looking for as a total package.

Yes, unfortunately KW has decided to put the V5 coilovers first, which means the DDC is delayed until later next year. I havent heard any dates, so i wouldnt expect it before Q2 2022.
If i hear something new, i will post it here.

That’s crazy. How many people are really going to buy the V5’s over the DDC’s?

Maybe price difference? Are we talking the difference between $2,000 and $5,000? US money, of course.

In germany the V4 is 5000€ and the V5 will be expected to be at least 8000+€.
If the V5 for the Huracan is any indication of the price, it will be above 10'000€, so yeah.... I'll pass.

And if the DDC is based on the V4, since there is no V3 for the G8x platform, it will also be very expensive. I would guess it to be 1000€ over the V4.

I'll see when the actual price is released. BMW got the valving right on this car. It's well damped for stock.

I had my eyes set on the DDC, but, I may just go KW has, because of how well the stock suspension is damped. I dont know how much better the car can really get.

KW HAS is what I'm looking into when my car comes in

The KW DDC setup, is a full coilover that plugs into the OEM suspension module, which allows you to adjust the dampening settings with the stock BMW drive modes. A little more sophisticated than the standard HAS.

I've been turned on to Tractiv for DDC - https://tractivesuspension.com/automotive/

They are a company in the netherlands that has been making motorsport suspensions best known in the motorcycle community.

Specifically I am looking at their R-ACE product.

My track shop says some F80 folks are using them, they are highly programmable (meaning you can set custom dampening rates for each setting) and they are re-buildable, and serviced in the US by inertia labs in Dallas.

They told me they are working on them and will be orderable in "a couple of months"

All of this is pretty interesting, given that the i4 has a signfinicantly proper "low" ride hieght out of the factory. Idk if anyone else has noticed, but it looks "good".

I definitely want the ddc for g8x like yesterday.

I just got the MP HAS a few months ago, and I would still switch.
