1 - 2 inches taller and this thing would be so much better on gravel etc.

has to be a good way to do it?

I don't know if it's possible but I believe kw has a spring spacer to raise the ride height slightly. I just don't know if it works on the stock suspension

Has anyone seen any 1.5-2 inch lifts that are not absurd, but give just enough clearance to pop over some gravel road (gravel roads get dicey especially after some rain, and we don't always grade stuff perfectly, so just need a bit more clearance)?
Bad bad idea. I live around moderate amounts of gravel and twice within a week got rocks stuck between my rotor and shield. And I know there will be more to come. In due time it’ll probably damage my rotors

Beyond this - any suggestions on slightly bigger tires that can fit on 18 inch wheels (planning to get the base 18/19 wheel set, but know that even those need some more rubber near gravel etc.)?

Planning to order a G80 M3 in the next week or two if I can get a dealer allocation. Also need to figure out the roof rack / trailer hitch situation…
"Safari" M3 would be great.

A bit higher ground clearance, trailer hitch and a roof rack would make a cool car.

I am currently in a quite similar situation, need a car to tow jet-ski, snowmobile but do not want an SUV. G42 M240i seems like an alternative but something is still a bit off with that car.

You get it! Just like 1-2 inches, better able to handle some gravel roads, still with the stick shift (no interest in a two pedal setup). Seems doable given people do it to 911s.
