I would like to know what wheel brushes everyone is using that clear the gap from caliper to rim during cleaningf that is soft. The one I am currently using is soft but struggles to clear past the caliper. I have seen a few online and similar in store, but they are round and slightly hard. I feel they will just scratch the wheel surface. I have been looking online for a soft flat/flatter wheel brush but, have had no luck.

The bristles are soft and the tool is bendable to get behind spokes. It comes in a smaller version for really tight spaces, although the larger works fine with my 19" wheels.

I use Wheel Woolies and ultra soft detailing brushes plus a dedicated wheel mitt together with Garage Therapy One wheel shampoo.

Your post got me thinking that I need to find a thin brush that will fit between the wheel barrel and front calipers. The rears are never a problem. I'm currently using a Woolywormit brush which I like, but its too thick to get in the barrel-caliper space. I may give this Autofiber brush a go. Note Autofiber offers two cleaning sleeve covers and this black short fiber one may offer the thinest profile.

If you have the black gloss wheels, this will mar the finish. Wheel Whoolies would be best if you have black high gloss wheels. Otherwise, this is a great brush. I use it on my wife's MB.

I've had no issues with swirls or other marring of the gloss black finish on my bicolor wheels or on my wife's gloss dark gray wheels. I am somewhat OCD when it comes to our cars, but care when cleaning and regular use of Wet Coat may have helped prevent damage.

I’m also looking for a good brush to clean these wheels. It’s near impossible to get all the dirt off of these spokes. I just tried the sonax beast cleaner and that stuff stinks like crazy. Even AFTER the wheel is washed! Is there a brush/mitt or something that can get behind the spokes, deep into the spokes and really clean them?

Yes, I have the Gloss Black wheels. I do like the one you sent me pointer but, was wondering if the cover pulls off during washes as it looks like it might get snug around the caliber.

I've got gloss black 22's and my wheel woolies have no problem getting between the rim and the caliper.

This wheel cleaner is a wonder, slightly bendable, the microfiber sock removes for cleaning and has an attachment for cleaning lug nut pockets. Very soft and will not mar wheels, reaches back side of barrel.

I've got this brush and I like it. However, it will not clear my front caliper/wheel barrels.

The single best wheel cleaning device I've ever used is the "Stranger" wash mitt by chemical guys. No better way to wash your wheels than using your own hand and fingers in my opinion, which the mitt is designed for. Works for crevices, lug holes, spokes, calipers, and barrels if your hand can fit between the spokes. As well as behind and between the spokes and brake calipers as mentioned in your use case.

They're lightweight when wet (unlike regular mitts), easy to use, don't scratch the wheels and clean the entire wheel quicker and more thoroughly than any multiple set of tools I've ever used in my experience. It cut my wheel washing time in half with the best results I've ever had. Also, needing only 1 tool for the job makes it way more convenient and less tedious.

About the only complaint I have is that it doesn't really fit the hand/fingers perfectly, but it's a miniscule drawback compared to the results and time saved. A bucket of water, soap, grit guard, and stranger mitt is all I need for wheels now.
