Body-colored lower skirts
Hi everyone, I was wondering if any Photoshop gurus out there could help me. I'm extremely curious to see what an Alpine white M4 would look like with matching side skirts.
I put in an order for BSM with Fiona Red, but I'm interested in replicating my old F32 AW/CR color scheme if possible. (Pic for attention) Last edited by IcebergM4; 03-23-2021 at 12:08 AM.. |

This is something I’m now considering doing but paint matching is tough. As you can see in the above photos of the fire orange M4 the painted portions don’t quite match up with the rest of the car. Especially on the front end.

It is tough (…and that's mainly due to the material being painted and how paint bonds to it…..e.g., metal, plastic, etc.), but a good paint & body shop also performs some blending. I've seen cars come straight from the factory where the painted metal parts looks very slightly different than the painted plastic parts. It's easier to see on certain colors. Either way, it looks worlds better than the black pieces.

I need to do a proper photoshoot but this is the look I wanted for my G82 before even taking delivery. I found a local wrap shop that couldn't get a match with their stock wraps, so they printed the color and then did the wrap. It took four trips to their shop, each time they'd print samples and compare to the car in various lights, tweak colors, print more, compare, etc. Ultimately they got a match that's 99% there.
The wrap was more or less a proof of concept, and I'm 100% convinced I now want them painted to match 100%. A best bud of mine owns a body shop so he'll be able to give me the look BMW should have offered straight from the factory. |

Yeah I like the color matched instead of the gloss black once you add the carbon lip and side blades.
