Front Mount Intakes

Has anyone had any issues with them been looking to get them for a while, also is any cutting required?

They sound good, can't comment on any performance. I'd assume lower IAT due to not just sucking in the hot engine bay air since the stock box outlets lead right next to the heat exchanger with no open air entrance.

You will have to cut the plastic shroud around the heat exchanger/grill. Very easy with the bumper off.

Yes, Trimming behind the bumper is needed but the bumper comes off fairly easily and I have seen many people doing this job at home.

Other than that the intakes sound great, look great and work great.

I have the RK Tunes intake, I was not planning on going front mount but I got them from another forum member at a great price. The install is not bad, the bumper comes off easily... get a hot knife to trim the plastic shroud. When installing the rubber pipes through the front, lube the heck out of the pipes(exterior) with dawn dishwashing soap. Overall I like the additional sound and the looks. I feel there is also a power gain over the stock air boxes.

Can anyone comment on ability to hear the intake sound WITH a full exhaust setup? I love the induction noise from aftermarket intakes but I'm concerned I won't be able to hear them over the sound of my AA downpipe and single midpipe.

This was the case with my OG M2 when I had a full exhaust + intake.

I think the sound is going to be about the same, the MAD intakes are loud, but I just can’t imagine the sound being much different.

no cutting is needed, removing the shroud will not make a difference on a street car
