I usually use weather techs but those tuxmats look interesting though. Can anyone in here that has them comment on the material? Is it a similar hard plastic like weather tech or is it different?

Just received mine and installed it in my wife's Q5. It's definitely not plastic but rigid enough to hold its shape.

The surface feels like Faux leather to me, and the back is the same material used for trunk liners. The mat is much better than the free ones from Audi for sure, not sure how the OEM mats from BMW look like. Pretty happy with the purchase.

Some videos reviews below, looks pretty positive

They are not a hard plastic or a thick rubber like the BMW ones. I think the explanation above probably summed it up pretty well. I really like my set of Tuxmat floor mats so far. I definitely won't put them to as much use as those that have to deal with snow or lots of rain but they certainly provide a good deal of coverage which is what I was after. Especially in the back seat.

Thank you for the input, I'm gonna consider the tux mat!

Absolutely would not buy $1400 floor mats that will get stepped on and likely scratched easily. Go with carpeted OEM M Sport floor matts and save $1000+

$1400 for those? Absolutely not. I would rather buy $250 OEM M performance mats.

You can do better with $1400.

IMHO it's crazy to see all these over priced accessories but these take the proverbial cake.
$2k mirror caps, $150 gas cap cover and my personal favorite a $95 license plate frame that you can spend an extra $35 to have ceramic coated.
I've bought tons of over priced stuff during my lifetime but this is just nuts.
If I could go back and tell my younger self a couple things one would be don't waste money and ask out ALL the girls you find attractive as most will probably say yes
Anyway I hate floor mats and usually remove them as they interfere with spirited driving-with a manual.

That's great advice, especially about the girls!

I know you're kidding but can you imagine how light that toilet seat would be. I've a carbon fiber front splitter sitting at home. It is unbelievable how extremely light it is.

$1,400 floor mats? Definitely not worth it for me.

However, I also spent $12,000 on ANRKY wheels alone.. so who am I to judge.

Do what makes you happy, but I'd do floormats after there was literally nothing left to modify.

When I was in college back around 2003ish I used to do some landscaping work for this super wealthy guy that was into kayaking (I think that's what they were). Anyway he had these one and two person fully cf kayaks that were just insanely light. The double person one was probably 8 feet long I guess? I could pick it up easily with just two fingers. Lord only knows how much he was paying for them back then.

Make sure that they are heated. CF can get chilly.

True but adds too much weight. I'm just waiting for them to fix supply issues.
