Worst color on the G80 / 82

Everyone always talks about the best color on the G 80/82. But what is the worst exterior color?

Worst IMO is prob AW. I love white cars and my previous car was an AW BMW, but I think it just doesn’t do anything for the lines of the G8X.

I don’t think it’s an ugly color, just the least desirable of the bunch to me.

Interesting. I've had so many white BMWs that I automatically built a white G8x in the configurator and it didn't work for me either. I thought my taste was changing and it was just me.

I kinda wish they offered mineral white instead of alpine white on the G8x. Not that alpine white is bad. I just think the mineral adds something.

I might’ve relegated São Paulo Yellow to Individual in favor of Twilight Purple or Frozen Dark Grey as an OEM color…

Exactly how I feel, and I have a white car. Haven't seen a white one in person yet though…

Mint is bad ass. Dravit is amazing. Zanzibar ii, I'd have to see in person. I think it looks great on other BMWs, not sure it looks great on the G8X. Maybe with the right wheels. Red is probably my least favorite color, of all. It's not bad, it's just my least favorite color.

I have to admit that you're right. I've owned two AW bmw previously, and despite I love the color, I think that it doesn't suits the G8x body shape. But it's not the worst one in my opinion.

Looking at the OEM paint list, I would say that the worst is SPY, because I think that it will bother quickly. To me it is a very difficult color to accept for a long time.

If someone is thinking to hold his/her car for a long time, it's always better to choose various shades of Black, Grey, Blue, and elegant green, for example Oxford green or similars. They'll be nice, sporty and elegant even when the modell will go out of production.

But it's subjective as mentioned, it dipends on what you want from your car, and on your personal tastes.

For example nowadays a cashmere silver E38 is wonderful to look at, whereas back at its times...it wasn't a top list color choice.

But, as in my family we've owned a lot of BMW's in the last 25 years, I still own the very first of them, a Cosmosschwartz E39 sedan + sandbeige leather interiors. Gorgeous to look at even 24 years later (MY '97).

I think this car needs a color with personality which matches the car. In my mind, no white, black, grey. Although I am not saying these colors look bad on this car.

There are few things more individual than color preferences. I doubt that any consensus could be created on this question. I'm not a fan of darker blues and my SO really hates red...on anything...even shirts.

I havent seen it in a color that was like omg thats aweful. My previous F80 was AW. Looked great in that color. With all the color options available AW on a G80 almost feels like someone just took whatever was on the showroom floor. lol I went with Dravit grey. It is amazing.

This is NOT a fair thread but of course we all know opinions are subjective so I'm not going to be offended if someone says Portimao Blue is the worst color

That said, I had an Alpine White F30 for many years so I did not want an AW G80. I saw one in person and it's not bad but it didn't look as good as an AW E9x or F8x in my opinion. So Alpine White gets my vote.

On another note you couldn't discount an M car enough for me to get it in Black. I just feel it hides all the details except under showroom lights!

Interesting to see why AW is disliked. I just switched to AW from BSM because I wanted to show off the lines of the car better. I have KO interior, so between BG, BSM, and AW, I felt like BG and BSM hid most of the lines. IOMG is the most beautiful color but I didn’t want Halloween theme. I’ve never liked the color blue, and TR doesn’t go with KO IMO. DG and SG are too boring for me. So that leaves AW.
