The interesting thing is only the US market start of production is delayed from July. The global press release confirms a July start of production and "market launch soon after". I wonder if that is US volume related or just marketing communication timing.

I suspect it's the size of the US market, as the US is the largest M market for BMW.

I like the way it looks alot actually (minus the grill), despite the weight increase over the m4 xdrive of about 327 pounds. Insane to have this car be 4306 pounds when a 911 targa 4s is 3687 pounds (619 pound difference).

But very happy they went back to a soft top, and therefore created a more visually appealing body stance that is reminiscent of older 3 series verts.

The fact that you can get buckets and carbon ceramic brakes is even more crazy and pointless, which is cool.

Noticed wireless charging pad (and laser headlights) are gone from Executive pkg. Assume they will be gone from the entire M3/4 range for 2022 across the board, at least to start the year.

Another COVID related part shortage victim.

Why does it matter if the hardtop itself is heavy? The F83 is still lighter than this car. I get the center of gravity thing but when the top is folded down (which is why you'd buy a convertible), the weight is already lower.

The hardtop looks much nicer. And the G83 overall looks weird (especially the flat doors). Maybe its the angles but with the increased length and width, it looks more like a boat.

The only reason I'd get the G83 over my current F83 is xDrive.

How dare you show a picture of the top up on this car you are ruining peoples conspiracy dreams about BMW not showing it with the top up because they know its ugly with the top up! And not at all because people could just go to https://www.topgear.com/car-news/fir...on-convertible and se it with the top up !

DONT RUIN peoples conspiracy dreams

BMW UK are quoting 3.5 to *62*MPH for the M4 Comp *Coupe* with XDrive. While the non-Xdrive Comp Coupe has already been tested by multiple reviewers at around 3.6 to *60* versus the BMW quoted 3.9 secs.

So I would expect that 3.5 quoted for the XDrive Comp Coupe to 62Mph to be somewhere around 3.1 to 3.2 in reality (so maybe a ~3sec dead for 0-60).

BTW - BMW UK are quoting 3.7 to *62* for the G83, so it would seem they're factoring only a one tenth difference between the 0-60 vs 0-62 (100Km/h) sprint.
