I suppose it would be quieter inside the car if they make the noise outside quieter as well. For me, I just hated the fake sound. let the car sound like it sounds and don't put fake ideas into my head of what people outside are hearing. I'd prefer to be able to turn off the ASD, but leave the outside sounding normal. Maybe turn on the interior sound when I want to feel more sporty or maybe, impress someone sitting in the passenger seat who doesn't know about it.


And, they have NO stock colors for any of these videos, yet don't mention in any of them what colors they actually are, which would certainly be handy for all of us armchair quarterback color callers.

The exhaust note is an improvement over the S55 but I'd say is 'acceptable' at best. Does not sound great by any stretch.

I guess that's subjective, personally I think the N55 M2 is one of the best sounding exhaust notes of recent i6 Bmw's, it has a deep 'growl' to it and the overruns sound amazing too. The B58 sounds great too.

As both the S55 & S58 use 2 mono scroll turbos that feed each turbo individually this is where the biggest change in sound is happening because of the manifold design. The G8x now has equal length exhausts which seems to have addressed the raspy tone which the S55 was famous for which is a good improvement, however..

It is a subjective assessment for sure, but considering the rasp has been around since the E46's S54 (...the car that went from being lambasted to regaled over time), I fail to understand the criticism of the S55. Ah well! Bring on the G8X. It's a beast of a car.

Getting a G8x and expecting that it will sound even decent will be a huge let down.

That being said, my 440 with an M-Performance exhaust did sound a whole lot better than my M4CS did.

If they get rid of the laaaame burbling/pops/cracks it'll sound even better.
