Most people can't even get a single G82 M4, and you already need a second spare one? Crazy!

Well we are in the wheels and tires forum. Assuming the OP is asking for a spare tire option.

At least he has a vehicle! I've been sharing a Jeep Wrangler with my spouse for a couple months, until I take delivery (this week). Not the most convenient arrangement, but we've made it work. Just forgive me if I give other BMWs the 'Jeep wave'!

Now, if it's a spare tire you're after, vs. the entire car, I don't believe BMW offers a space saver rim/tire for the G8x. If you truly need the security of a spare tire (and I don't blame you if you do), then get an extra front rim and tire in the OEM size and strap in down in the trunk. I've done that myself on long road trips, especially through desolate areas or in winter. I'd explore Tire Rack first, unless you want to stick with an OEM rim.

So the front is 19” and rear is 20”. Get a front 19” extra rim? Will it work if I have to replace the 20” rear? Yeah I drive to Cali from Texas a lot. West Texas is not the place to breakdown.

Yes, a 19" will successfully fill in for a 20" rim, if you keep to the OEM tire sizes. What matters is the tire circumference (function of tread width and sidewall aspect ratio) when mixing tire sizes side-to-side or (for xDrive) front-to-rear.

The challenge you potentially run into in putting a 20" rim on the front is clearance to either the shock tower or inner fender when turning the steering wheel to full lock. Given the spare is temporary, best just not to bother with any 20" rim.

Thanks Lucky! So the M4 has a 275/35 19” front and a 285/35 20” rear I’ll buy an extra 19” rim with that exact size tire to carry in the trunk.

What do you recommend for a tire jack?

Small correction: aspect ratio on the optional 20" rears is 30, not 35. BMW carries (or used to carry) a tire-changing kit, which includes a scissor jack, lug wrench, and pair of gloves. A scissor jack is fine if you're not in a hurry, and it may be our only choice given our cars' low ground clearance. But if you can find a hydraulic jack short enough to clear the jack pads, try that. Amazon is your friend ...

Thanks Lucky. I’m looking at a double piston 5000 lb floor Jack I can carry in the trunk. So rears are 30 percent. I can put a 35 percent 19” on the rear 30 percent 20” or 285 mm

Ever think about a can of Fix A Flat? Smaller and lighter than a 5000lb. floor jack.

For many punctures Fix-A-Flat works, but there are some where it won't. It just depends on the driver's risk aversion level and driving circumstances. OP is driving in desolate West Texas, where I wouldn't want to be left stranded. Likewise, I occasionally drive in extreme winter conditions (and beyond cell service) where I wouldn't want to be stranded, either.

Am in the same boat and heard a spare kit would be available in February for our cars, so was considering that. But think I will just order an OEM 19 and put a tire on it. $555 for a 826M in black + tire + mounting. Not sure if will also order a TPMS for it
