Crazy part, the dealer wanted me to take a $10k hit on trade for 10 mths ownership and 3k miles.

I’ll go the new pad route before I even consider that kinda hit.
$5-700 for new pads is an infinitely better decision than considering trading the car in.

Did the dealer have a mask on and a gun pointed at your face when they tried to rob you like that? LOL.

Regarding the hard driving....you only need to do that once in a while to keep the pads well bedded. And keep them clean. Make sure you do a good job cleaning the calipers out with a pressure washer when you wash the car. That will help alleviate a lot of the squealing.

He's got an M4, nearly a year of driving with 3k miles, 10k off what he paid for is really not that bad considering.

I haven't done it yet, but I will shortly. I don't mind the squeal so much, it's the damn brake dust. I spend 10 minutes scrubbing each wheel during a car wash. Then I drive a few miles and there's the dust again. Aftermarket pads drastically improve this. The lack of squealing and added bite is just a bonus!

I am curious how many miles has everyone gone without hearing the screeching on their new brake pads.

Please state the brand of the brake pad as well, Thank you

I caved and bought iSweep 1500 for the dust mostly. I just can’t keep the wheels clean. I hate the dust.

Me too. I had EBC Red Stuff on order but the delivery date kept getting pushed, so I went with iSweep1500's from r33_RGSport

The reason i ask is because I have read many threads on this topic and I have read some people say that the screeching comes back after 1000-2000 miles even after replacing the pads with EBC or iSweep.

Is this true?

If so I would have to change my pads almost every month!

I just got this M4 G82 and I was not aware of this brake issue. I did not have this issue with my last M4.

No, it won't come back with iSweep. Unless you are super low on the pads where it became metal to metal.

I put isweep 1500’s on at delivery. Car has 1100 miles on it now, no squeaking. Best part, I can drive hundreds of miles and the wheels still look clean. The 3 times I’ve washed the car so far, just regular soap cleans what little dust there is right off. I read about this for months before my car came, as well witnessing my good buddy having a g80 constantly complaining about the red brake dust. Bought from RGsport. Best upgrade.

Thanks for this bro! My 1500’s just arrived and my car has 150 miles on it. You validated the reason why I bought them.

Yesterday my brakes were squealing like crazy, a couple hard stops from 40 mph with no one behind me did the trick like usual. Today I drove about 80 miles and not one squeal. This seems to work for me, it seems that when I drive around town like a "normal person" the brakes start to act up and make lots of noise. Either way these brakes aren't quiet. I was lucky with my ATS-V and CT4-V BW, both had quiet brembo's and normal rear calipers, lol.

For me it’s the dust. I caved and bought IS1500. It’s expensive. But the dust is insane. I actually did not have big squeaking issues.

Did you do the swap yet, brother?

I think I might follow you in suit and get the IS2000s. Curious to hear your review first though.
