M3 Allocations per month?
Any ideas on the number of M3 allocations average dealer receives per month? I'm number four on the list at a medium-sized dealership. Just wondering how long I should expect to wait. Thanks for everyone's opinions and experiences.

I'm under the impression its a pretty small number right now. Sounds as though some saying the same thing as you have been waiting for months.

I think dealers are getting 1-3 per month depending on their volume.
My dealer, which is a high volume dealer got none in Oct. Things are not good right now |

A small volume dealership I'm working with in Central CA hasn't gotten any and I've been #1 on their list since May. One medium volume dealership in SoCal seems to be getting one every other month while another large SoCal shop says they've been getting 1-2 per month. Another SoCal dealer (BMW Ontario) says they have three open allocations at this point available at a $20K markup

We've usually been getting 2 M3s per month (2 M4s, and 1 convertible)

Not to derail thread, but I wonder how deep wait-list are these days. One dealer back in May the list was 7 deep for an M4... even moreso for an M3. Can't imagine what it is now

Mine had just 4 M3, 6 M4 and 3 M4conv. allocations for 2021 (one is mine fortunately), but on normal periods they sell at least 10 Ms per month, including X range.
This year is a total disaster, a lot of people that wants an M car, but no allocations.

Because M4 is selling better than the M3. As the previous generation.
I talked with my friend in Munich, the current ratio in nearly 2 M4 x 1 M3. In other words, M4 sells nearly twice as much as the M3 (Because a lot of people are waiting for the Touring).

Seems like I see more m3s on this board. I guess this place isn't a good gauge of the real world |

It's true and I would have said the same...but BMW sells more M4 for the time being. Things will change when the M3 Touring will become available I guess, but in the meantime....they will sell few M3 sedan in Europe.

it looks like those who have allocations are marking up $5k to $10k over. I'm 3rd on a waitlist but no mark up so i guess it just depends how much you want to pay and bad you want one.

Honestly, if it's not a large dealer that usually sells a lot of M cars, they won't be priority for getting allocations in this environment. And especially at #4 on their list, you might be waiting until next summer to order.

The dealer I went to in the suburbs in Chicago claims to be one of the biggest dealers in the area. Placed my deposit on August 27th and still haven’t gotten allocation being the first one. They claim they did not get any allocations for a over a month.
