Presuming it is - can you use a sat radio app nicely integrated in AndroidAuto or CarPlay? Yes, sucking down cell data and not free satellite...beamy wave things...but...at least you'd get the content. |

When I picked up my car last week I was talking to the genius and he said that on some of the lower models in the BMW lineup they are dropping HUD and other options to save chips. Ms are not affected (apart from the wireless charging of course). I can see more and more of the camera issues we had - ie car produced without a key part because of lack of availability, car shipped and then missing items installed prior to delivery. My car (like many others) had to have all of the cameras retrofitted before delivery.

Here in Spain Wireless Charging is back again.
So is Parking 360º. We currently have no restrictions over M3/4, only delays. I know there are some hard restrictions to lower models though.

Check Carfax for a 2021 M3 Comp and they are going for $95,000 all have less than 5000 miles, this is crazy. My dealer has two 2022 M4 one for $122,000 and another for $101,000 list as MSRP but it also shows two others at $76,000, and $78,000 but I checked and there is really not that much difference in options not sure why such a big difference except the one for 122k is an XDrive.

Is happening to Porsche also. My local dealer has a 2020 911 S (992) with 13,000 miles listed for $148,000 bu I configured a similar 2022 911 S for $127,000, so how a two year old car with 13k miles cost 21k more than a new one, the answer is because you need to wait over a year closer to two for the new one, that is what I was told.

In case we needed more bad news, China is drastically cutting magnesium production. Europe is expected to run out in weeks. That's...not good.

Chase Bank's auto researchers (spoke with them yesterday) are saying they expect the chip shortage to be over by the middle of 2022 and it will take until sometime in 2023 for that situation to normalize. We'll have to wait and see what is next in the shortage.

You know… these electronic “deletions” may not actually be a bad thing if 1) you don’t really use the feature, 2) it means that there is less crap to break/go wrong. I almost welcome simplification and have a M car be more focused on driver engagement than a computer on wheels.
But I get that ppl expect all the tech for that price |

Yeah, I know the general tendency (when trying to secure allocations) is to focus on high-volume dealers, but if everyone else is doing the same thing, then more rural dealers may occasionally catch a break. I guess it reinforces the fact that it's worth calling around.

Yea, when I placed my order there were no allocation, allocation came in about a week later and order placed (dealer told me they received 2 M3 (xdrive)and an M4 convert). I believe the one the dealer ordered for their inventory will be in stock soon as it is listed on their website. BMW of Westbrook

I'm in Maine near Portland. I tried to go the route of big market dealer initially ( Boston), However those dealerships were silly in what they were expecting to get, as they were listing cars with barely any options for $95,000. My $3500 off of MSRP came in at 3% below MSRP.
