The more I think about it the less convinced I am that the factory taking August off will affect us. I hope.
What I think is happening with us not being moved over to production begins just yet is them being slow this month, and we’ll see us moved over to production and everything moving along rapidly right when production is scheduled. Basically I just think the status updates are slow but production is still going to happen according to schedule and we’ll see fast movement in our trackers. At least that’s what I’m hoping for! |

I dont have much confidence in my tracker ever updating, again. Im just waiting for delivery. Its been 23 days, of checking at least once a day, and nothing.

Whereas some of the build weeks prior to that, I've read some people have had their cars built in 10/11 days I really hope that'll be the case for us too when capacity increases again after the holidays

We are now week 34, so realistically this means my car will be built in 4 weeks worst case, or 3 weeks best case - that's not too bad I guess... so should be going 150 in 2 weeks?

I just called and they're still saying production will begin week 36 with an estimated production completion time of week 40.
Genius person (who worked there 7 years) said the reason for the longer stretches is due to the chip shortage / stop sales. They're giving up to a month estimate for production (when it normally would be 1 - 2 weeks) so that they can try to resolve any shortages / stop sales during production and not at the port. I'll try to call again next Monday or later this week to see if anything changes but still Week 36 as of today. |

Ordered an F93 M8 on 8/19 which is scheduled for Week 36 production. We don't have build threads in the M8 subforum, so I've been lurking here trying to maintain some semblance of sanity and estimate when my new ride will arrive.

I’m so confused lol. When I ordered my 2021 (which was unfortunately totaled) I was also given a confirmed build week of when the car will finish production, yet I can’t seem to get that answer from Genius for this one and I’ve talked with multiple people.
I keep asking when the car is going to be completed and all I can get is that it will “start production” in Week 36. When I use the term “what is my build week” they say week 36 too. Today the guy told me it’s estimated to start on week 36 and complete by week 40 (because of the reasons I outlined above). Maybe that’s because I have park assist on mine? Are you guys asking for build week or completion week? |

Just called yet again to see if someone else would give a different response, and lo and behold:
"Your car is scheduled to finish production on Week 36... which is August 29th - September 4th" I don't even know who to trust anymore |

Just checked the status on BMW USA and the status switched to Production Begins for my MY22 M4C xDrive.
I think they still saying that week 36 is the week of completion for the whole production (usually around 1 week). So.. I called one last time get some more clarification. I was in the Week 35 thread and there's people there that have actual estimated completion dates (e.g. September 7th), so I wanted to see if I could get that number.
I was told my order was scheduled for production on August 2nd and that was pretty much the last update. There's no actual scheduled completion date (like the actual day) which is a little worrisome, and I was given a bit about the chip shortages and that it might be delayed. However, it's still showing that the factory has scheduled it for "Week 35 with a confirmed production finished on Week 36". The Genius person basically said it's a 50/50 on if it will be delayed or if their trackers are just behind. We're going to be in Week 35 next week so wouldn't I have already been bumped up if there was a delay? So not sure what to think at this point My inclination is that the trackers are just lagging, but we had the one user here that's just been moved up to 150 and in the other threads (e.g. Week 35) there's movement. |

So, once you get a completion target date/week, that's what you should really go by. Ignore the tracker during production. A few days before your target completion, you can call to see if it's on track. Then when your tracker says in transit, you can call to see what ship.
