I drove a couple of non-car-people friends over to another friend's house this weekend. My front passenger is an sweet but odd and sheltered human, and he always asks six million questions trying to understand why I like cars so much. He drives a 1.5L 2018 Accord...when he bothers to drive at all.

My favorite question he asked this weekend went like this:

Friend: "Does this car make fake engine sounds from the speakers?"
Me: "Yes, but I turned it off."
Friend: "Oh. Why is the engine so loud? Does that mean it's a V8?"
Me: "No, it's an inline 6 with two turbochargers. Folk who like cars like to hear the engine."

That led to a lengthy discussion about the merits of V6's and I6's.
