i can get the frustration of long time enthusiasts.. we are basically entering december with zero driving impression of the final car while they have been on production lines for a month now.

also for how good the powertrain is, esp in midst of a rumored PHEV 4 cylinder "C63e" incoming, I don't get either why they are not hammering home the technical details about the car. Were they doing much for X3M launch? I don't recall seeing many materials initially either, the fanfare on the S58 really started when instrumented tests and comparison videos came out

hopefully we get some real articles and videos soon. Well connected european based youtubers like schmee and mr. amg should get their go soon...

She is apparently a popular reviewer, as evidenced by the video having 11million views last I saw. And care? Because so far it's one of the few (albeing it poor) videos of the car we have.

If the engineering and driving tech are much better than the F gen they should be talking more about it. Aside from upcoming AWD, it seems like new skin on a similar package.

Seems like the writing is on the wall and thinking M3/M4 is dying a slow death here unfortunately.

The target market, the soft, klitchy social media reviews, rare mentioning of technology, questionable design direction, and the list goes on.

Thinking the new G37 M2 will probably replace it for the driver's small to mid-sided track-focused car, while i4 will slowly replace G8x until electrification. Sad times, hence changed my order to an 21 F90. Happy to say my F90 M5 Competition will be at the VPC the end of this week! Cheers!

Rowan Atkinson is actually a huge car enthusiast, I think he'd KILL if he started doing car reviews on youtube. Hell, he could reprise his role as Mr. Bean in every one of them and I'd watch it lol. I actually think he'd probably also do well on The Grand Tour alongside the boys.

What this marketing campaign says: this car wasn't made for you. It was made for the 21 year old TikTok star that lives in an LA mansion with 4 roommates and drinks themselves into a coma on the weekend while cashing sponsorship checks.

I posted this observation in another thread so i will fill the short version, separate from whatever the design direction the brand has moved towards, it is clear the marketing group is living an agency's fantasy of being unchecked by the client. This is an extreme campaign that looks like it was not diluted from the pitch deck. BMW leadership said we need to target younger feel (but probably not actually young, think things affluent ppl buy to make themselves feel young) and "hipper" but still premium affluence and the agency ran with it over the top

The simplest explanation is they wanted to go after the same jr-mid lvl execs who used to wear grey suits or slacks/button down but now wear designer jeans and sneakers to the office. Instead of a balanced approach the agency went for the "hippest" and "trendiest" extremes
