I've had my winter wheels / tires on for a little over two weeks now. No snow yet, but sub zero temps. I must say, I really do like the ride of these as well as the look of the wheels. Will post some pics once I get back to the car after work. These are the dealer winter package 19" Michelin Alpins.

Yup, those are what I got as well. I was surprised at how much more forgiving the ride was compared to the P Zero summers, despite being fairly low profile. Much better for the crappy winter roads with all the cracks, potholes, and frost heaves.
We had a bit of freezing rain here this morning and no issues with my commute to work. |

I've always used my previous M's (E92, F82, F80, F87) in winter and never had an issue.
My G80 has a grand total of 1km on it over the last month so I can't comment about how it does in the cold temps but with the rear diff, M cars are VERY capable in the winter (with winter tires) Back when I had my E92, I used to take some remote back roads to work. I had an Audi S6 just before the E92 and spun out pretty good into a field and it was a good hour before someone drove by who was able to help pull me out (which was embarrassing since I have thousands of hours on track). The following week I picked up my E92, and it was FAR better than the Audi with quattro on the exact same roads. The M diff is like magic. Add in a good driver and some winter tires and I see no need for x-drive. |

Sweet, I couldn't justify going anything but AWD especially since moving from no snow to some snow and I also hit the slopes 🏂!
