Hey all...I have done a bunch of searches and looked through tons of threads on Bimmerpost and elsewhere. After all that, I still cannot figure out if there is a more "blue" version of Atlantis? I love the strong metallic flake of Atlantis, but am concerned it will be too green/aqua for my taste in person. I also looked at LBB, but that appears even more green than Atlantis in most pics.

I am considering Enzian also...so i guess a metallic Enzian/Santorini/etc would work also.

Then again, if it is not in the personalizer, then it is not available correct (or at least not without some stupid cost)? So maybe I am just out of luck. haha.

Yes...but the colors are so misrepresented there that it is impossible to tell what they really look like.

I guess the Atlantis and LBB are the two closest. Cant tell if either is particularly more "blue" rather than teal/aqua based on the visualizer though. Likewise, I have seen so many pics that show each as blue and as teal....hence I was hoping someone had better in-person knowledge than I.

There's a guy on the F80 forums with an Atlantis Blue F80, and he has tons of photos that represent all different types of light.. dubsesd

Well now...that looks tasty. hahahaha! Thanks for the link. Ive seen a bunch of other threads on Bimmerpost with Atlantis, but not that one.

Atlantis Blue is not what it appears to be in dub's photos. I purchased an F80 M3 in Atlantis Blue and thought BMW made a mistake because it wasn't what I was expected - it's far more blue than dub's photos. There is a greenish tinge to it under certain lighting, but it's very much so a blue paint. So take that into consideration when purchasing that specific individual colour.

Long Beach Blue is bluer than Atlantis.

Search for Silverlake and Snapper Rocks Blue - these colors are bluer variations of Atlantis.

LBB seems more blue than Atlantis. I agree.

This is why I asked! LBB almost always appears more green than Atlantis in pics. Haha.

Also, consider Maldives blue. I believe this video shows it well on the m4. I was close to ordering this color but went I went with FDG.

Snapper Rocks was a regular (non-M) 4 series color...which IMHO, makes it less attractive.

LBB is a common M2 color.

I know it's not metallic, but if you're paying for a blue have you thought about LSB?

Totally subjective but Atlantis is too aquamarine for my tastes, I love YMB, Santorini blue, LSB, etc.

If you keep SMB clean (my CS color) it stands out amazingly.

Right-click on the each color, and open the color as a new tab/window. That will pull up a bigger paint sample that looks much closer than the vehicle rendering. After that, you'll want to do online image searches.

Otherwise, you can request new colors, but it has to go through a longer review process. Not sure if you have to pay for the test spray if/when BMW tests the color.

That's what I remember reading, so I never bothered looking into LSB. (Though I do like it.)

RE:Snapper Rocks, i actually saw one yesterday and it was definitely teal. Not a bad color, just not what I am looking for. I'm not sure LBB is different enough for me to like it.

The Atlantis looks intriguing, but unless o get to see it in person, not sure I'd risk it.

I absolutely love SMB, but I seem to be leaning towards brighter colors, and am worried it will be too dark.

I am waiting on some custom paint samples I ordered to compare SMB, Portimao, and Enzian (I picked Enzian, but voodoo and Santorini are close enough that it can act as a proxy) in various lighting conditions. I'll make a new thread so others can see them next to each other also.

Re:new colors...that's interesting. I always liked Sepang Blue from Audi. Though I'm not sure how different from Marina Bay it would be.

Atlantis is very blue. Much bluer than LBB.

It's like the car was shot with a white base coat so the blue has a white almost sky-like quality to it

Where as LBB much darker and has the turquoise effect in some lighting
