Yup. No go on LSB. I tried and will try again in the future.

Also, maybe you know, but Enzian isn't metallic.

And also as you seem to have figured out, you can't tell anything about colors based on internet pics. You can get a general idea, but you either have to take a gamble as I did with Enzian or be lucky enough to see one in person.

Side note - am I supposed to get notifications when my name is mentioned because I don't.

And, if you are overly neurotic about picking out a color, trying to compare them and have some free time you can do something like this. Not that I know anyone that would take the time to do that... .

About enzian: yeah, that is the one thing holding me back from it. My friend has a new S5 in their equivalent bright flat blue (forget name), and it looks really good. But there is something about the metallic flake highlights on a car with body design like the M3 that I prefer.

Hopefully I can see an enzian or voodoo live at some point....you ever drive to Miami? Hahah

There's a photo on BMW's individual site that appears to be Atlantis blue.

Great find. Do you know if it is that blue in person? I love it in that pic!

Atlantis Metallic is blue in direct sunlight and teal in dusk/cloudy conditions. It's a dynamic color that changes based on lighting and it's best seen in person before ordering, as photos are often misleading.

That is stunning. Bright without being obnoxious. Thanks for the explanation.

Anyone on South Florida have an Atlantis anything?

Encanto thanks for the response. Since you also have extensive first hand experience, which of the images in this thread do you the no best represents what you saw with Atlantis on a regular basis? And have you seen snapper rocks in person, if yes, was SRB more or less green than Atlantis?

There is no regular basis with Atlantis since it changes based on the amount of sunlight. and it goes from a deep blue just like the pic I posted earlier in this thread in direct sunlight, to a teal greenish color when there's less light. I've literally seen the car look different in the same minute depending on where I am standing.

Atlantis gets greenish teal in dusk conditions but it doesn't really reach the level of green that Snapper Rocks has.

Hey Francisco (I believe that was your name, right?). Hope you're doing well did you ever end up getting an Atlantis F80? I'm waiting for a Dakar Yellow G80 now.

bmw noob

I've attached several photos of my Atlantis F80 in several lighting conditions. The other M3 in a few of the photos are bringbacklsb's and his LSB G80. None of the photos I've attached were touched up. You have to understand that photos are predicated on the cameras that were used, and camera phones today aren't always accurate and true to life.. let alone the ones from 3-4 years ago. Some of the shots are on a Samsung Galaxy S8+, some of them were on my Nikon DSLR.. regardless, cameras don't quite capture the slight tinge of teal you get, but it's very slight. In brighter sunny conditions, you will see no green/teal.

Again, Atlantis Metallic is NOT as green/teal as dub's photos since he edits his photos to make it more green/teal (I used to do the same honestly). It's still a beautiful paint, but you should understand what you're getting into. You'll see a beautiful shade of blue most of the time, but will get a slight green tinge when it's overcast or under specific lighting. Enjoy the pics!

Hey man, congratulations on your upcoming G80! I'll be excited to read your review once it arrives compared to your experience with the F80. I appreciate all of your help when I was researching the Atlantis Metallic color, including meeting with me twice so I could see your car in person on a cloudy and sunny day. You were kind enough to give me much of your time, and it was fun comparing my LSB M3 to your Atlantis. My saga with the F80 can be read at the following link, and it wasn't pretty, but it ended well:

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1510201

I have some business goals I am working on, and if I achieve them I will reward myself with a G80 and not feel the same kind of stress and pressure that I experienced with the F80. I did love the Atlantis Metallic color and if I ever got another M3 that is the color I would go for.

Can't wait to see pics of your new G80!

If you want to go darker than Atlantis, check out Aegean Blue (my first choice, had I gone full Individual on paint choice). It resembles the new dark greenish blue you’re seeing lately on small GM and Ford crossovers (not that that’s a compelling comparison). Here’s one photo shoot that shows the color from various angles:

Aegean is several shades darker than Long Beach, and it's probably greener (not having seen them side-by-side in person). Even darker than Aegean Blue is Petrol Mica, which is more a bluish green and appears black outside of bright lighting.

So, OP, there's probably an Individual color in the BMW spectrum that fulfills whatever you desire; it's just a matter of knowing exactly what it is you want.

Aegean Blue looks literally nothing like Atlantis…. Atlantis is an awesome color from what I’ve seen online but you have to go with your gut. If you want something more you may have to go with Portimao, or a non-metallic option.

Personally I think Atlantis is one of the best M colors of all time.

Thanks all for the continued help and photos! It is truly appreciated.

The wife strongly prefers Isle of Mann over Atlantis. I'm torn also. I like both, and have similar concerns for both (i.e. what will I be most happy with a few years from now). This game sucks. Hahaha.

LOL I was in your same boat... wife wanted IOMG, which I liked a lot, but didn't want a standard color (there is a local one at nearly every car meet)... my favorite M color was Atlantis (also torn between San Marino & Velvet Blue). Ended up ordering Atlantis... but now I'm stuck buying my wife a new car

See if you can find an individual color you both love is my recommendation.

Snapper Rocks Blue I think is the most similar. That F80 M3 can be very deceiving, it's all about the lighting.
