Black is nice. Hides some of the ugly. M3 is growing on me because of the rear end. M4 is ugly front and rear.

now I'm starting to see the m4 in a totally different light, considering switching from the m3. So strange how this works on this gen. Previous gens I knew exactly which one I wanted..

Just like with Tanzenite, BSM really helps to hide the ugliness of the front end. However, the M3 looks way better IMHO. Im actually contemplating getting a G80 comp after repeatedly saying I was going to boycott this generation due to the front end and doing away with the DCT. I'll make my final decision once I get some seat time in a G80....

I know lots of folks are super excited, but wow for me i just can't get warm about the G80/82. The coupe in particular just feels so un-BWM -- almost Infiniti-like. I keep thinking I'll come around on the grille but sadly, no.

Will be eagerly reading everyones posts once these are out. I have 13 months left on my 7 lease and wanted to go back to an M (can't swing an M5).... we shall see.

Yeah that's a big difference, nice to see that. I was afraid the rear was going to be too close but definitely not.

Beautiful car, congrats!!!

Don't get me wrong - I love the specs on the car (Astonishing) but the design is not for me and I'm sure most would agree. THAT GRILL IS ALL I COULD SEE! It's like approaching a pretty girl until she opens her mouth exposing her jacked up crooked teeth 🦷

One of the best things about life is that we don't all like the same things! I actually like this M evolution of the BMW kidney grill...at least it takes its design from the first BMWs from the 1930s (the 303 and the 328). Much better than designing something just to fit a market trend for large grills that the likes of Mitsubishi, Lexus, Nissan and many others have done.

When do people realize that there is no freaking way to change to front with the actual grille by shortening it etc. and look somehow good. every redesign looks hideous af !

The only way, if you really hate that front that much, is to replace it completely.
And I mean completely, including the hood (because the hood gives the lines!).

Smack an M8 Front on it with the hood and be happy.

I respect your opinion but to me that grill looks like garbage no matter what. You put the previous generation grill on this car and I bet sales would be VERY much better.

Are we still taking about this. It's not changing. Go buy an F80 if you want the old boring looking grille. The G8X makes every other BMW look ancient by comparison, I've seen it next to an M2 and an M5. Times have changed, I guess some people can't though.

It's ironic the people who don't like it don't even know the difference between a "grill" and a "grille"

^^ This x100 Couldn't have said it better

Get over it already and move along. That design is here like it or not. Jesus...so much energy expended on a car you think is ugly.

None of those bumper redesigns posted here work. No one is going to sell more than 5 of any of that garbage and the grille won't be magically shrunk at LCI.

I just saw an M4 in person for the first time. I always liked the design but after seeing the grille in person it makes sense. It doesn't look as large as in photos and it just works with the design.
