M4 Allocation Available in Knoxville, TN!

I just got delivery of my 2022 M3 xDrive here in Knoxville.

I know how hard it is for anyone to get an allocation for the M3/M4, but my salesman just told me that he has another allocation for an M4 ready to be built in January!

If you're interested, contact Brian Gabel at Grayson BMW!

Tell him Ryan sent you!

Yeah, it's rough out there. Eventually they'll probably get it.

Yup, not surprised. Earliest I could get one through my dealer, which is probably the top volume dealer around, is August '22 (delivery).

Yes, my sales manager has forced me to get more than MSRP on future orders due to the number of inquiries we are getting. I was able to get him down to doing just a $2k markup.

I went ahead and put myself on the list for an M3 xDrive also so.... The long wait begins!!

M4 comp xDrive - allocation available. Week 4 build
M3 manual - 1 on the list
M4 Convertible - 2 on the list
M3 Comp - 1 on the list (me)
Brian - thought you would have gone for the manual? Glad (kidding) that you get to share in the pain of the wait.

Ughhhhhh. I really really want a manual, but I also really really love an AWD car.... So yea...
Welcome to the forum Brian…was looking forward to possibly snagging that allocation and driving back north come Easter. I get the current car climate, but unfortunately I can't swallow $2k over and $750 dealer fees (anti-theft etch )

i thought the M3/4 allocations could all be configured as either base, comp or X?

$2,000 doesn't seem horrible. I would honestly do it if I wanted the car.

My local Toyota dealer wants $25K over for a TRD Pro 4-Runner

Seems like more people want M3's than M4's. Is it because of the name or the convenience of two extra doors?

Hi Brian
welcome to the forum
remind your sales manager that while its a sellers market now ,it won't be forever, and the 2k markup you make now could result in thousands lost later due to lost loyalty.Im going on my 4th M lease and my regular dealer also would not budge on a 5k markup , so not only will i never buy from them again , i will also advocate for a dealership that has sold to me at MSRP. They are out there .

I love reading threads like this. It absolutely eviscerates any idea this car is not wildly popular and in high demand.

Call or text me for inquiries. I DO NOT have any M3 slots. 2 on waiting list for M3.

This is great news for the consumer. Don't let these dealerships get away with marking up over MSRP. I am not exaggerating when I say I called over 50 dealerships across the US when trying to find an allocation(which I did). I would say 75% of them did not ask for a mark up.

If you are willing to go out of state and be patient you will find one for MSRP. Don't be a sucker.

His number is there, but it looks like it can be either a base (manual) or comp

I love the hubris of the salesman. Joins this forum only because the OP was kind enough to send him referrals. And then has the gall to express his surprise that no one has gobbled up an allocation OVER MSRP. Really man???

A previous post commented on the short sightedness of this opportunistic behavior. Couldn't agree more. These cars are born from passion. Bought for passion. Said another way, they are not entirely commodities. But only to a limit. Price elasticity is certainly factored into BMW's MSRP. Above and beyond, no chance.

The same thing is happening with groceries. Prices are up. Same with the new Xbox and PS5. Good luck getting one, and if you want one you likely pay $200 over retail which is a way higher percentage than $2k on a 80-95k car.

Plenty of people don’t mind checking every single box of options on the car no matter what the cost is, but $2k is a deal breaker? Ok.

As for opportunistic behavior… selling this car out of state we will never see the service business, we will never see the warranty business, we will never see the return business once things go back to normal. Another point to that is the fact that someone could easily buy this car $2k over and likely get a higher amount off resell. The market is so stupid right now. I have about 9 cars on the lot. Most dealers have less. You are over paying for everything in your life right now.
While I don't disagree with some of your comments, there is A LOT of profit in each car you guys are selling at MSRP. Is the extra $2k really worth risking your reputation as previously stated?

I too will never buy from a dealer that is offering something over MSRP in this market.

All the dealers in my market are doing is taking orders, filling out a form and cashing a big check. One of the CAs I bought from in the past told me their volume is up over 2019 (pre covid) and they are selling everything at MSRP. In 2019, they were making a few thousand on the average car, now they are making 2-3 times that, with volume UP.

Don't believe the gloom and doom stories you see on the net about struggling dealers. Ones in large markets like mine are absolutely killing it.
