2022 M4 Comp xDrive stuck in Status 155 for 5 Weeks+

My car was originally Week 31 build but it got post poned to week 35 to finally enter Status 155 Assembly Complete/Quality Control 5 weeks ago. As my title says its stuck in this status for 5 weeks and more now and I am scratching my head as cars built after me are already in ships and mine has not even dispatched from factory after 5 weeks of completion.

I have checked my VIN with BMW UK recall site and luckily I dont have the engine bearing stop sale issue but do have RAM module and Cam retrofit Stopsale codes. This still doesnt explain the car stuck in QC for 5 weeks as those stopsale fixes are done after disptaching from factory and arriving at port. I am starting to freak out if my car is severely flawed in the QC step to require 5 weeks of repair or something along that caliber of work. Did anyone hear or know car stuck in 155 for this long? Whats possibly going on here?

Edit: I live in Canada where BMW canada system sucks and cant do any of the things US Genius can do such as trying to contact factory whats going on. I contacted my SA and he says that from his email with BMW canada “everything is fine with the car”

That seems excessive. I'd press your SA to contact BMW to find out what's wrong.

I did pressured my SA to try to figure out what is happening after 4 weeks of status 155 which he then contacted BMW canada and their response was pretty much everything is going well and normal for my car. Apparently that was the response from the factory in Germany.

Not very helpful. Your build week was end of August!

Week 31 was 1st week of Aug so its been delayed 2 months now.. but what more options do I have other than wait for the status to change. I was wondering if anyone in the forum has heard of car stuck in 155 and whats the possible reason for it. Dont believe they will do stopsale fix in QC step.

Sorry I miscounted. That is nuts. I was worried being in QC for 3 days hah.

I don't believe they would hold it at the factory for a stop-sale. That just doesn't make logistical sense unless they knew parts were coming in shortly and it would be quicker than doing at a VPC. They only have so much storage. Purely speculation by me though.

Thats exactly my logic as well and hence I am thinking its more like severe paint imperfection/damage, engine malfunction or something of that sort to be stuck in this for so long. How the factory told BMW canada that everything is going well despite stuck in QC for 5 weeks is blowing my mind

It has happened to a few other people too.

My car was done 9/17 but this is the start of week 4 in QC.

I have an M3 so I'm at a different factory than you. Hopefully they are just fixing some of the more optioned cars stop sales at the factory.

That's a long time in QC. I was 3 days. I don't believe the options level would matter. I'm decently speced (MSRP over $120k). QC for 3 days and now at the port. RAM stop on mine.

I'm assuming you have the driving assist pro and parking assist too?

Kind of reassuring that I am not the only one with this problem. Please update us when you hear anything from SA

I was build week 30 for my 2022 M4 Comp xdrive. Ordered from BJ BMW back in June. Took delivery 3 weeks ago, no delays. Really hope you get your car soon, it will be worth the wait.

So there are three of us.

I'm wondering what happens if an order doesn't get produced before LCI? Does the order automatically convert to the LCI model or gets canceled?

My VIN says build date of 09-15. As mentioned in the canada thread I've also been in 155 since at least Sept 28 (the first day I asked my SA for an update since being 150 on Sept 11). My options list is basically the same -- fully loaded except for cc brakes and cf buckets. I have the same two recall codes as well.

Maybe it's just major lag in the canadian system showing updates? one can hope...

Mine is in 155 since Sept 10th and I just checked with my SA its still in 155. I doubt its a lag in the Canadian system cause couple of other forum members from Canada that got a car built after me has changed to “waiting for export at port” status. I honestly have no logical idea of why the car is stuck in 155 for 5 weeks and possibly 6 weeks. I wouldnt mind too much if its stuck at port as I have 2 stop sales (camera retrofit + RAM) but stuck at 155 means they are not even working on the stop sale and once it gets to port I might have to wait additional few months for stop sale fix. I might receive car in 22’ Feb for 21’ Aug production car. This really sucks..
