Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that doesn't mean your car isn't affected. Mine shows clear on the BMW UK recall page but I called BMW NA Friday and they told me my car is indeed affected. I think the UK recall site was edited to not show it anymore (same as the NA site).

Did they give you any more info?
are you still waiting delivery of the vehicle?

I got my car about a month ago and have ~500 miles on it so far. They said that they are still working on the resolution and to expect an email or letter in the mail in the next few weeks. Very vague and not helpful at all.

I've just had this from them on Live Chat:

"Your car has now arrived in the UK and is awaiting clearance through customs before being taken to our storage facility, where the car will then have some final quality checks carried out before being transported to the retailer. We estimate the car will arrive at the retailer next week sometime."

Still no acknowledgement of the error code or recall and when I asked "Once it arrives at the dealership I'm free to take the car" the chat ended. Not filling me with confidence.

If you want answers call your dealer.

Why do you think I've gone to live chat? Dealership haven't given me any answers. They've always been two steps behind and haven't even acknowledged there's an issue.

My dealership has acknowledged the stop sale but has no idea when it will be resolved. Anyone have any idea how long the wait will be for cars that have not been delivered?

I had an odd behavior where my car lurched forward/backward at about 4000 RPM while passing on the highway. I immediately took my foot off the gas, wasn't sure if it was rapidly up/down shifting or something else going on...

Maybe the bearing shell burst...I kid I kid.

You likely got caught in between gears in an upshift or downshift or something.

I had a dealership call me about a m4 vert they had available that was stuck at port...I asked them if it was stuck due to the bearing recall..he said "yup".

Tried getting more info on the issue and timelines but he had no info.

That's shady that they were going to try and sell it to you with that knowledge.

Sounds to me that it was an honest conversation.

I just emailed the dealer. Even though the recall doesn't show on any websites. He confirmed I'm part of the recall. They said I will be contacted by the service manager when more information and parts are available. He couldn't tell me any details though because they don't have all the info yet.

Car was built 7/28/21.

It's a sad day in being a car enthusiast, when we now need to add to our personal "delivery checklists" for new vehicles, "check the carfax for major repairs prior to PDI"

Nobody even has any official info yet, let alone has had their car fixed.

I rang the dealership and BMW Australia today and nobody had an answer. We are not sure was all they could say.
Car should be delivered from Port to Dealership in the next week or so, but then they will have to keep the vehicle until all is corrected.

Just seems crazy that you buy a car worth that much and they just say no info keep you posted. Could be a week or could be months.

Makes a huge difference if you need the car.

It is a catastrophic process, so it most likely will be an engine replacement. That being said getting a new engine can probably take a good while. I won’t be surprised if it takes a few months.

Someone replaced main bearings on his s65 motor. Took him 30 hours with the engine out. I’m speculating the s58 will be as complicated if not more.
