Same exact boat - always bought but now thinking of leasing this.

1,200 is literally an M5 lease, and since my 335 isn't falling apart, I'll wait the year and see how much these come down.

So those lease numbers are going to be a much bigger threat to the car's sales success than the grills...🤔

Some interesting feedback here for sure.

The RV is not the sole reason these cars have a high payment. That is just one ingredient in the leasing recipe.

RV is based on MSRP. Our goal, as consumers, is to close the gap between sale price and RV as much as possible, coupled with a low MF.

In this scenario, there is no lease cash and only a nickel for loyalty. Additionally, most dealers aren’t going to offer much of a discount off MSRP yet, due to the excitement wave in certain areas. They need to capitalize on the new launch as much as possible.

The lack of/small dealer discount coupled with no lease cash, is the main reason for a poor lease number here.

The M8 cannot be compared. The M8 has a lower residual than the M3. But, there was/is so much flagship cash on them, and plenty of inventory, that lease payments do look very good in comparison. Flagship cash on launch cars was up to $18,000 for CVs.

M5 is an awesome value and has the highest RV in the lineup

I'm just going on the record to say it's quite annoying that I could get into an M5C (much bigger discount and better residual) for the same money, or wait another year to get the same car for less than $1k/mo and feel better about myself... Oh well. I suppose I spend $300+ more a month on many different things that are much worse.
This is why I'm getting an F90 (or possibly F97) until the G80 LCI

All good things..
Give it a year maybe residuals will be high 50s low 60s. By then too rebates should be higher.

I view the low rates as bmw cashing in on the early adopters. This is actually good for normal consumers who were going to wait anyway.
Usually the dealers get to keep all the ripoff of the "gotta have it crowd" in the form of ADM and MSRP sales, this should force dealer pricing to normalize faster and inevitably these rates will line up with the standard model counterparts as they always do a bit after launch.
100%. This is how it for works almost every new M car.

It'll normalize in a few months and then can compare to M5/8. It'll be much cheaper .

Please don't lease this car.

You'll be paying $45K for a 36 month lease for a car that worth approx. ~$80K. In 36 months this car will still be worth over $55K. So you are effectively paying $100K for an M3.

Buy it, pay $1200 a month for 36 months and in 3 years you'll owe $35K on a car that's worth $55K. So leasing it is costing you $20K more!

Alternatively, you can also do BMW Select.

My exact feelings, why not get an M5 at that price faster and better looking car.
This is making the M5 decision more attractive to me also.

The M3 is now an M5 hence the same price.

I say lease away dear madams and sirs and let's get these suckers out on the street in large numbers - these are going to be a steal 3 years out.

Well, that seals the deal for me.. either keep my f80 and buy it out, or go through with my m2 cs purchase - without incentives and good leasing, this car just isn't worth owning, especially out the gate first year. That's how I feel, but if you're in the gotta have it now camp, enjoy in good health

Shit so far nothing was stopping me from purchasing a G80 but just knowing that it's gonna be around the same lease price as a M8 or M5 LCI is kinda disappointing. I would have to make up my mind and see if I should finance or hold off and wait for lease options to get better.... or 911 time 😈

That's a really expensive payment. I guess being a first-mover has a price. Looks like I'll wait a little. Thankfully I have the x3m to hold me over.
How long will this vehicle hold you over?? 6 months 🤷🏻*♂️ 🤣
