I just configured a base 992 C2 very close to how I would configure an M4 and it's up to $134k. Ouch.

Yeah, you need to do with less bling if you’re going to be anywhere close. You’ll get a chassis good enough for a $150-$200k super car but need to leave things as massage seats and CF bling out, actually you need to leave all unnecessary stuff out It’s not a spec. for spec. type of choice.

Carrera 911 2s would be of interest too. In my german config the 992 2s cost 150k EUR instead of 100k EUR for the M3 comp.

The G8X seems to have excellent traction off the line, almost match the rear engined 911

After that, it’s just what’s expected given the power to weight ratio of both cars.

I'm really curious to see how the Xdrive compares. Based on my F82s, I just assumed the RWD G8x would suck of the line and that there would be a huge difference between the Xdrive and RWD variants. This might not be the case. Or, maybe BMW is just combining some traction and engine tuning. Or, this cars has brand new tires and the traction provided during the first 100 miles or so will fade like they do for me.

Yanked

Nice to see what that power/weight can do next to a base 992 even if is an auto. Given how much Porsche sandbags specs these days.

To anyone that has had an M3/4 this is a new thing...

IIRC the M is starting in 2nd for launch with LC which actually chimes with what I've done with my last 6 M cars 1st gear launches with LC (non xdrive) just don't work but this time they have programed it this way.

Not impressed.
The Carrera has 379 HP and 331 TQ ...of coarse the BMW will beat it.

Make it interesting, put a Carrera S up against the m4/m3

A car that costs $40k+ more as standard? Porsche choose to price their base at the same level as the M4, so that's obviously what would be the comparison.

Add some cones to the track and then evaluate. I don't see why people feel the need to do these tests. Different cars, different classes.

I think it's more about people trying to justify that their M car is "better" than a 911 when in reality they don't even match up.

It reminds me of the 3 series owners doing the same going head to head against the M models.

why couldn't BMW have done the same traction to the f8x? the g8x is such a good car, but I wish they kept the same hard body lines and dct for the g8x

Funny how when the video came out of the Porsche beating the M4 it nobody was complaining about they are in different classes. Now that the g82 destroyed it where's the same energy ? Lol

Cuz no cones on the street. Most people will never track either of these cars, but they will race light to light.
