The plaid is really a tough choice to beat when it comes to it's rivals.

Like does it really take a 4 million dollar hypercar to barely beat a plaid by a fender? lol

And the plaid only ran a best of 9.8 in this video. I'm guessing they drained the battery for this video on purpose so it won't slaughter the other 2. So it's not even in it's full potential. Brooks from dragtimes tested his plaid at 20% to see what it would run.

It still ran 9.9 at 20% SOC. That's bonkers!

Great video! The Plaid definitely doesn't disappoint. I like that Yianni called it boring.

I can agree with that. It's the ultimate sleeper.

Yeah I love it. Most can try messing with you but hardly any will succeed.

With any luck, it would be another Plaid.

The only thing even close, in my area, is a Chiron.

Tesla now offering $7,500 incentives and 3 years supercharging on S and X. A plaid is now $105k-ish. Dang, what a bargain for the performance!

Guys and gals, the prices of a model s / X plaid just dropped by $20k.

I can't decide what to do. M3/4 Comp X or Plaid. I've had a couple model 3's from tesla and familiar with their QC. Would be my first BMW. I don't track and live in Ohio. Can get cold and lots of straight roads.

I have both ( Model SLR though) and if I had to choose one , it’s the M.

You will have fun with the Tesla for about 4 hours of endless pulls and then reality hits you.
The car isn’t fun , it’s just the most incredible daily in the world with minimum excitement along with ultra low charging fee’s as long you have a wall connector and that is its purpose.

If you need the excitement & thrill to go with your daily routine , go with the M3.

In general , these 2 cars have nothing in common besides being just as fast.

I wouldn’t consider one or the other.
These two are better when paired together , my 2 cents.

I agree. The M3 gets better over time, but the Tesla stays the same or gets worse (build quality).

Tesla is meant to simply driving experience. Many Tesla owners at work when I talk to them about it they say it’s just so easy I love it. “It’s mindless”.
I think it’s for different kind of people.
Yea it’s very fast in straight line…. If u are in the nice warm climate of CA.

I know OP mentioned Model S but they just updated Model 3. There is no gear shifter u have to swipe on the screen to put in reverse. There is barely a speedometer and no HUD. It’s clearly made to be a taxi.

No, it's not meant to be a taxi. If you can overlook the horrific ride (seriously the Model 3 is the worst riding car I've ever owned), it's actually a decent driving car. There is something very satisfying about the precision of control and immediate response from a very well tuned EV.

Having said that, for many reasons, I would not buy another Tesla again until they change their management and philosophy toward customers, and will not own another EV until the infrastructure and support is in place. The Model S is a HELL of a lot of car for the money. But, I can't deal with Tesla's incompetence.

I owned two Model 3's for 4 years. The ONLY thing I miss about the Tesla is not having to go to the gas station. Seriously between the 16 around town MPG and the small tank on the M3 it's annoying. My GTi was just as bad. But I haven't owned that since late 2018. In the meantime my cars have been electric (no gas visits), diesel (500-700 miles a tank) or hybrid (1,000 to 1,500 miles a tank).

Aside from that, I live in flat-straight landia, otherwise known as the Texas Gulf Coast. And the M3 still brings a smile to my face.

Agreed, I'm sure it's not for everyone. It was either that or dravit and fjord blue. Was looking for something a bit different. Thank you! I can't wait to get it.
