M3Xdrive with JB4 versus M5 comp

I had my first street drag in the M3 early this morning. JB 4 Setting is always on 1. M5 Comp pulled up next to me at the lights. I went on green and got a small jump on him and held that till he tapped of. He may have hesitated at start slightly to see if I was going to go for it.

Second set of lights we both went and he got a 3/4 car jump on me I might have slightly reduced that to 1/2 a car in first 30 meters or just held him till he tapped of again. I felt my car hesitated when I floored it the second drag which gave him the jump and I could not reel him in. Both times we raced for about 750m. First race was on a slight incline and second on a flat.

I am a little disappointed (perhaps stupidly as I felt my car was invincible hahaha) . Its taken way over a year of ownership to finally have a proper dig and I feel I was beaten: Both times however were incredibly close.

I’m not sure how you can deduce anything from one random street race. How do you know they weren’t tuned?

If you were genuinely racing for 750m on the street, you’d have been doing well over 200kph. Doesn’t add up.

M5 Comp is very fast from dig, lots of torque right from idle, whereas our G8x needs about 2.7k rpm to get off properly

I am not deducing anything! He might very well have been tuned. Just relaying what happened this morning.

I have checked on Google and the distance from light to light is 600m less approx the point we tapped of so in that regard you are correct it was less than 750m. Apologies as I actually thought it was a longer distance between those lights.

We were definitely genuinely racing but not sure how fast we were going because i did not look to see however we were going very fast.

HI BlackSunShine, I do not have a tuner for the JB4. I was unaware that it could be further tuned?I bought unit from Burger motorsports and with some email help from them installed the unit myself.. I got the Bluetooth module so can choose which tune I use but was advised to use tune 1 due to Australian fuels average octane rating. I also got their top mount air intake but did not install due to heat soak concerns. The car is amazing and my post was purely for interest sake and not a moan😊. I think a might have been able to optimise performance slightly with a few of the cars settings but things happened quickly.
