BMW and M are not just about the M3 and M4. They have some excellent other cars in the current lineup - M2C/CS and M5 come to mind. The designs of the XM/X4M/M8 also look good with great performance and driveability.
It's good they're aiming for new buyers though I would have preferred they didn't use the M3/4 to attempt to do this. Can you imagine Porsche, Ferrari or Tesla blowing up their marquee brands for new buyers? Almost definitely they would have created a new model to go out on a limb with and not risked their most critical model and fanbase. |

BMW have done their research and know that their loyal fan base for the M3/4 will buy again regardless of exterior design. Only one way to prove them wrong.

In my case, it is not the exterior design that will sway my next purchase...

I know you are really commenting on the Y-spoke wheel design, and not necessarily implying these are literally the same 763M already available from BMW. Still, just to make it clear, these are an all new wheel. You can see this by comparing them side by side, in particular where the spokes meet the hub and rim.
The real reason I wanted to call this out is because CLAR vehicles use a 5x112mm bolt pattern which is a change from the old 5x120mm BMW standard. So, for anyone hoping to do so, you unfortunately won't be able to use the old 763M on the new car. |

While styled similarly, those are not 763M. They are more akin to the M5/8 M-Performance wheels with machined out scallops in the spokes.

I'm going front lip, triangle exhaust, but I really dont like the side skirts....you cant have that ridiculous lip in the back and not have those side skirts unfortunately...i'll get over it I guess.

I will miss my 763's (although these are, as noted above, slightly different), but I am not willing to pay whatever premium BMW is asking to go M Perf wheels.
I'll do the exhaust and front lip in a heartbeat.

Yup. Heavy as hell and no more DCT. On paper for now, I don't see any performance gains from my current M4cs. BMW has taken away the key differentiators that made their cars more appealing to me over the competition.
