Frozen Black M3
Just picked up a new frozen black M3. Absolutely love the car and the color so far. I am getting a full body stealth STEK PPF next week. Hoping it doesn't change the look of the frozen paint!

Very nice! Question- why would you put stealth STEK on as your PPF instead of clear? I thought the stealth look was specifically to give the car that matte finish, which you already have.

This video should help explain that. The matte PPF was specifically made for matte/frozen cars so it can give the protection but keep a matte finish. A glossy ppf would make it look glossy. |

I've done some research and yes it seems like you could easily get BSM and do a stealth ppf and achieve nearly the same look. Would it look exactly as good as the frozen paint / frozen paint with stealth ppf? I'm not sure about that, the only way to tell would be to get the 2 side by side I guess or ask someone who has seen both in person. I contemplated not even doing any PPF and just enjoying the color and take care of it best I could, but with this paint I think it's probably just too risky. I'd be interested to see someone with frozen black paint who didn't do PPF and what the car look likes after some significant miles. |

I have a BSM on its way and plan to do a full stealth wrap. I'll share some pics once it's completed so we can compare. I have a buddy with a frozen Portimao blue and has done only full frontal PPF. He has had the car for about 6 months now and still looks brand new. Granted he takes care of his car really well. |

For your buddy's frozen portimao blue, can you tell any difference between the parts that have PPF and the parts that don't? |

Good to know. If the PPF was going to change the frozen black color I wouldn't even do it. I'm going with Stek stealth wrap. I've heard good things about both XPEL and stek.

Stek on BSM - looks amazing. It is thick PPF so expect it will look much the same as Stek on FB.

BSM with stealth PPF is the spitting image of Frozen Black, without the hassles and worry.
Looking at a Frozen Black G80 and G81 in a showroom today while my car was getting its break in service, they look the same. |

That's good to know. I haven't seen either in person, so knowing it's the same in person makes me feel better. Gonna look great all the carbon fiber and yellow DRLs...

The eye and camera can’t see a difference. I might have liked to have the full car done but I think just the front is enough.

What are those gold plated exhaust tips? Haven't seen these before. Looks great, by the way. |

Maybe a little off topic but for a full body ppf. Do you guys experience any stretch marks? Is it avoidable?

Frozen black before / after full PPF. Same place, lighting and camera. It does effect the sheen/color a bit, i'd say it looks a little less sharp and more shiny. Overall, happy with how it came out.

Question - did you add some small fender flares? I actually like the way they look and would add more protection. Thanks! |
