I’ve talked with a few members here about that. There’s a decent variability and while I could be completely wrong, I’m expecting around $1500.

I didn’t pull the trigger yet because I’m having trouble finding places to be honest.

But this hood really breaks up the front of the car and I think adds much needed depth to the hood. I love it. Just a matter of time before I get it.

I had mine painted and it cost 2300 but they also finished the underside of the hood in exposed carbon/clear coat. Most people leave the underside raw.

$1500+ is insane to paint just a hood. On my f8x I had them paint the hood only (no blending) and it cost me $500. Paint still looks great 5 years later

Here's my Alpha-N.

I had it painted BSM prior to getting it wrapped and it cost me 1300ish but it included blending the fenders as well. I was initially quoted 4600 by this fancy place in Northern Va and I told them to pound sand.

I’ll be reaching out to a few places soon for quotes. No one in my area so I have to look a little further. I’d love to get away with $500 but I don’t see that happening. Full disclosure though, I could be completely wrong.

I’ll try to get some quotes next week.

Alpha N hood is amazing!!! Superior quality. Kevlar under the carbon fiber. Sending to the paint shop to get polished underneath and painted on top. I’m going to leave the triangles carbon fiber. You cannot go wrong with this hood. Also perfect fitment. Installed in minutes with no modifications to screw holes or anything.

We offer their products and use their painting service all the time, they do excellent work.
What is the extra cost to have them paint it that also can be a factor. If the hood comes already perfectly matched then it's worth to me!

So this hood looks insane, no doubt. I’m curious, when you look into the vents from the outside, what is exposed? Is there any “airflow” or practicality to it? These questions are coming from a place of curiosity, doesn’t really sway me from buying it when the time comes.

The vents come down on the bottom of the radiator cover. Also, there is a mesh that is optional to cover the vents. I believe they charge an extra $700 for that part. Also, to paint and polish the hood is between $800 and $1200. Total cost of this mod is approximately $7000 if you paint match the hood.

Mike, I don’t think I’ve asked this, but how difficult is it to color match these? I’ve talked to a few people that have noted their panels needed to be blended.

Is the paint application work from your contacts spot on?

Not sure anyone can make a guarantee but my hesitation is the risk of the paint app being slightly off color. I’m looking for it to be painted in Alpine White. Out of three facilities I’ve called locally, no one has a matching vinyl wrap and all are cautious that the paint will match the rest of the vehicle without blending the associated panels.

Not a paint expert so hopefully you can appreciate my issue. I wish I was more knowledge. : /

Its difficult to get it 100% right.

Most people wont notice the difference, but you will and that's the worst part.

I saw a car during the last bimmer invasion, and it had the Brooklyn grey exterior, looked great. But i have Brooklyn grey and i knew something was off. Turns out they tried to match BMW colors and its very close but not perfect.

If i was to match BMW colors, i'd go with IND its worth the extra cost since they got the right colors.

I just realized the Alpha N has Kevlar underneath looks disgustingly good, that's a extra $500!

Can't comment on the hoods specifically, but +1 for NW. All the parts I've tried from them have been great fitment and quality. The customer service is even better.

Im set on getting this hood, I'm still not 100% sure on the color. I want it Brooklyn Grey but with some carbon. I just don't know yet which parts to keep carbon

Just a reminder, as of a couple months ago IND said that they would not paint the hood.
