Carbon front grill Vorsteiner vs GT style
I am not sure which front grill to choose…I have an M3 G80 in Irish Green.
Any thoughts and real life experiences are welcome. (Pics from IND, R44 and Unit17_UK) |

I’m actually attempting to install the GT style grille tomorrow. I like how the top and bottoms feel more balanced out than the Vorsteiner one. Got mine from R44 👍

Took two days to install the grill and m performance front lip. I’d say overall fitment/build quality is an 8/10. Once installed and secured from the front it’s a 10/10. The clips aren’t too precise so in the end I did have to screw them in which was a pain.
If you don’t want to screw em in I’d recommend avoiding any of the two piece grills as I assume it’s a risk with all of them. Instead go for something like the CSL replica one piece grills. Taking the bumper off/on is pretty straight forward. The most annoying part is getting to the two screws at the top of the front wheel arch (make sure you have socket wrench extensions and a knuckle). Oh and having a second pair of hands for the bumper removal/putting back on as well as getting to those wheel arch screws a lot easier but not necessary. |

No 3M. There’s clips on the backside that lineup with the bumper clips. But you have to screw em together for a secure fit.
Install vid from R44. https://youtu.be/qjku8Up-Qcs |

A few more shots now that I got the car back after getting it PPF’d and ceramic coated. Although having to screw the grill to secure it is a negative, once installed I think it’s the best looking grill out there. Love how it turned out.

This was essentially my same experience installing the grill and carbon inlets this past weekend. Took longer than YouTube shows but I’m a novice and I spent way too much time trying to reach the two screws on each side of the upper bumper, behind the plastic wheel arch lining. I was fumbling with the ratchet and definitely had to use the extender as well as a knuckle that I picked up. I didn’t have the dexterity or skill to do it properly until the end when I got better at it.
Don’t remove the silver horizontal bolt above the wheel liner - that’s not one of the two you have to remove. The two are black and vertical that have to be removed. A flexible light helped and I was able to shine it from the engine bay but the iPhone worked too. Undoing the clips from the OEM grill took a few min to figure out how undo them. Again - very novice. I couldn’t get the provided clips to work with the new grill so I took some 3M tape, cut it lengthwise so it wasn’t exposed when pushing the grills in, and installed with that. I had to remove some pieces where it was too tight around the edges but still feels secure. The one front parking sensor didn’t line up perfectly in the new grill and I broke the housing a bit pushing it into place but super glue fixed it. Had to scrape away just a little bit of plastic in the clip to create a bit more room so it’d clip in fully. Ended up with 2 extra silver screws when i re-installed the number, one less push pin, and one extra black screw. Silver screws were the 2 I didn’t need to remove so had to open up the wheel liner again to install them. They wouldn’t thread at first so had to loosen the other two black screws and then it all lined up fine and threaded in. The missing push pin, if that’s what it’s called, was pushed into a trim piece where the black screw needed to go. The screw didn’t seem to fit in that spot at first but I pushed the trim up and it began to thread. Followed the pattern under the opposite side to see where the screw needed to go. Hope that’s not confusing and super happy with the result in the end. Quote:

Does the M3 badge come with the Vorsteiner grill or does the old one from the OEM grill transfer over and fit in the space?
Is that silver Vorsteiner emblem thing just a sticker? (hopefully removable) |
